    Telephone numbers
I notice a lot of folk are irritated big time by bookies phoning them.

I was just wondering why you give them your number in the first place. I never do. If they insist on one I make one up and if they query it I say its my landline and its not open much because Im on dial up. I also say I use my mobile for calls but I will never give theat number out.

I also always email queries - 1) to get everything in writing and 2) to avoid their getting my number.

So far, no problems. Are there times when you have to give your number out?

I always give them my parents number along with their address, as they are anal about answering any calls from numbers they don't recognize, and they mail all my junk mail to me once a month... They make a great free answering/buffering service

When ever I call a book, I dail *67. That should block your number from caller IDs. But some phone companies charge for this, so make sure you dont might that.

Do a test to your caller ID or a friends and see if it works for you.
