    Bill Dozer reports on BetUs
    03.08.2006 (04:25 PM CST)
SBR Bill Dozer reports: BetUs(SBR rating D+) Bait and Switch Bonus? Bettor denied NFL loss rebate. The player was promised the 10% rebate throughout the football season as he lost $15,000, earning a $1500 free-play. After the NFL season, BetUS confirmed that the player had earned the bonus and assured him that future account activity would not affect his NFL rebate which would be credited before the end of February. The bettor reloaded his account and went on to to win back most of the amount lost during the NFL season. As a result, BetUs closed the betting account, denied the free-play earnings and deleted 25,000 in bonus points which could be redeemed for a free-play.

Player: "I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF I LOSE MORE THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE MONTH IF WOULD I GET MORE CASH BACK AND HE SAID NO -- IT DOESNT MATTER WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE NOW, ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHAT YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE WAS RIGHT AFTER SUPERBOWL. Just to confirm that, I called two different clerks the next day and asked if I were to go on a win streak in the days and weeks after the superbowl, if that would affect my gamblers assurance and they assured me that it would not."

I can't believe people here cry out against books like Bet365 and act like edc deserves to receive her cheat money when there are legitimate issues like this taking place.

How can that be possible? I thought Mike Foreman was running the place and there were no more shenanigans, except of course the last one where they made MyFootballGame deposit more money and roll his money over a zillionth time just to get HIS money.

No more shenanigans? That's what I thought too. This place was being considered for a bump up, but they treat players like garbage.

Every book that has some cash back after SuperBowl always has a cutoff, and BetUS also told me their cutoff was SuperBowl time - if I lose more afterward, I am not eligible for anything else, and if I win more, that makes no difference too.

What use is cash back / insurance, if the book tries to avoid paying it. I have had this problem with my auto insurance, but never with a sportsbook.

This is sportsbook 101, BetuUS, and if you guys don't get it, then you should know that the players do.

              GoFish,

Did you have the same problem or are you verifying how the rebate worked? I also called sales yesterday and they confirmed the rebate applied to August through the SB. Players who have a rebate credit coming shouldn't bet a penny more until they get it.

                Bill,
Just confirming what they told me about the cash back cutoff. But I have dealt with other sites who have rebates on losses, and they always honor their word when a cutoff date hits, that's the figure used to calculate.
