So is pretending you have huge losses owed to a bookie the next best thing to pretending you have huge wins??
Has anyone ever not paid a bookie before?

#39People dont take money lightly.
Heres the way I worked guys, I work the same way with my bookie who is an old man & has done this for years & is a respected man around the circles in this business. If a bookie doesnt care if you pay him, he sure as fuk doesnt care if he pays you, so you need to pick a bookie like you would a babysitter for your child. And any good bookie is going to do the same in picking clients. If he just gives you a line of credit & has never met you or talked with you or has someone vouching for you, good fukin' luck when he owes you $500!!!
I could write a book on running a good local book, and theres always a lot of interest in it here at SBR since I think its become a lost art. But since this site is bought & paid for by offshore online books I dont guess SBR would really appreciate me talking anymore about it than I already do when answering questions in threads.
I have always dealt locally and wouldnt have it any other way. Offshore is okay for what it is, but nothing beats a good local book you can talk to anytime, look straight in the eye, and oh yeah, speaks goddamn English!Comment -

#43several reasons at the time, but i wouldnt mind mind getting back into it. I had a good setup at the time to run the operation like I did. I had the time for one and it takes a lot of time to do things right. And I had the muscle. Theres nothing like a 6'5" 300lb guy who considers jail home to get some shit done thats not exactly legal or humane.Comment -

#51Bookies are smart. They only allow you to build a debt as long as they know for sure you can pay it. It's a business. If they know you can pay 1k back a week... they'll let you gamble heavily. If they know you can't pay dik back... $100-$200 Max.Comment -

#53Maybe reason with him
Since you ran so bad to get in this debt, you're obviously due for a hot streak so offer to give him your best picks each week for awhile that he can tail and see what he says
Be sure to record it and post the videoComment -
