i don't really know the answer IMG, but i can tell you that sbr has 654 sportsbooks rated.

In terms of just websites now is almost impossible to know as many credit operations that used to just use phone service now also have their own web sites. Then you have to consider all the different markets, if you are taking into account the whole world (thinking mainly of Asia and Europe) too that is whole different group that just can't be followed as close. 10k maybe?

Places you could play at tomorrow by posting up and get down a bet if you knew about them as a US citizen, I really don't think 1000 is unreasonable if you count multiple sites under one book, etc.
