Cable companies testing blocking gambling sites?

My ebonic report on the matter

Guys when i got up this morning I found I was unable to access any gambling sites or content on my PC!!! I could access MSN, Yahoo, Google, my bank virtually anything else I wanted, but I cant access ANYTHING with "casino" or "Gambling" in the urls including CAP!!!!

I cant even access Neteller!!!

The only reason I can access here now is I shut down my broadband and went dial up.

I called Adelphia and a taped message is playing saying there is an issue effecting internet access for the South East United States and that their engineers were aware of the problem and are working on it.

Well... How come only gambling related content is effected by this regional outage? Its GOT to be a filter.

This is a terrifying turn of events.

I will let you guys know if my broadband access comes back later. I have checked several times each hour and its still blocking ALL gambling sites. Even obscure ones.

Since Neteller is included, it is obvious this isn't just about gambling sites, but about the entire way the industry operates. My guess is the Republicans are testing the waters. I noticed on the link you gave that you're in Florida... Doh. This allows those Reich wingers to get a quick feel for how people will respond, which will weigh very heaviily in the Goodlatte initiative, because no Republican wants to lose an election over this shit. So tell your cable company that they have no right to censor anything (throw in a lawsuit threat for good measure if you can't get to your money in Neteller!), and tell everybody to do the same.

Could you tell me your position on censorship? I've noticed that one or two cable companies are experimenting, undoubtedly at the behalf of the Republicans,
with blocking out certain websites.

I would just like to let you know up front that if you will ever take that step, even for a single day, you will forever have lost our business; right then and there.
The internet belongs to the people; not to a bunch of ideologues whose thoughts, on more issues than they would imagine, run parallel with the Chinese leadership.

This is one of the exact reasond I need to be brunning things. i could it on a part time basis and have better success than some of these faggots who smoke and drink everyday. Most of them have never even touched a weight in their life. Their so pussified that they can't even handle this Iraq crap and then you can't even fire Isiah Thomas for being a stupid dumbfuck or you'll get a lawsuit against you saying its racism.

If those terrorits would have done shit right, this wouldn't even be an issue. When I say that, they should have hijacked a plane and the 1st destination should have been the capitol building while Congress was in session making sure they kill every single of these dumbasses that have proven they couldn't successfully run a McDonalds. Now, that there are trying to **** this up because it ruins so many lives, but its OK, 75% of them are at home right now getting drunk before they call their hookers over.
