#2I voted for college foots but the guys I know in the business, better known as bookmakers, say the players are toughest in 1) Baseball and 2) Hockey.Comment -

#3I think the question wording here would only lead you to one possible answer...and that is baseball. Considering baseball teams play 162 games apiece and the season stretches out over 7 months with baseball on everyday...you have the most opportunity to win (also to lose I suppose)...but i like NCAAF the most but betting football is confined to only a handful of games compared to bases.Comment -

#6Maybe a seperate thread, but do any Americans make any $$ or even bet on soccer. I know books will have 75 leagues in action with teams you can't pronounce and have never heard of. I take it those are just for the foreigners?Comment -

#13I would have to say MLB Baseball.
With the big comebacks on good pitchers against overrated teams like the *cough*yankees*cough*. You have a chance to make big money everyday with a smaller risk. But you cant bet on them teams every day, you have to break down the schedules.Comment -

#14Baseball is great. I'm from europe, but like the availability of stats, numbers and info found on net about US leagues. I have also subscribed to mlb.tv for the past 2 seasons and intending to do so this season again. I really like the game. I almost always play -1.5 runlines (often alternative rl's also) and have had profit so far. NBA has been maybe a bit more profitable so far for me, but i'm improving in baseball.Comment -

#16How could anyone say NBA. I think that is bar the hardest as 2 teams could play one week apart and each team could win by 25 in each of those games. It's happened before. There is no ther sport that comes close to that. That happened this year with the Pacers/Clippers.
My vote is CFBComment -

I've hit around 60% of my NBA sides and totals during the last 2 seasons. Making over 100 units a season with varying bet sizes.Comment -

#18I believe college football, by far, is a sport where a bettor can get the biggest edge in handicapping a game...college hoops is a distant second, but referees influence the game far too much to get any real edge...Comment -

#19Tough call.
Baseball is my best, and line wise if you can pick out dogs that can be chalky teams, the payoffs are huge.
College sports in general are alot easier to find softer lines than pro sports.imo
I'd have to say:
1)Baseball
2)Hoops (college)
3)football ( college)Comment -

I am most comfortable with basketball and football. I have absolutely no clue how to win in baseball, guess i have a lot to learn in that area. This must be the place to be to get that knowledge. I need a Summer Job anyways.Comment -

#25For me, COLLEGE Football & COLLEGE Basketball are bread winners almost every year, whereas the same cannot be said when I bet on Professional Sports, such as the NFL, NBA or even MLB...
The fact that the oddsmakers have to post lines on over 200 Division 1 Universities makes it much more difficult and challenging for them to get it RIGHT every day, and therefore, it presents more opportunites for gamblers such as myself...

#28I think every sport can be good to someone or another. The main idea is to attack each one a different way. If you go into baseball season trying to play it the same way you would NFL, you'll be blindsided. Much the same, ignoring the circumstances of a drawn-out NBA season will disappoint you if you try to apply to it the same theories you would in NCAAB.
I voted for baseball only because there are 15 games a day, 5 days a week, and there's so much value popping up daily.Comment
