    Safest Countries
Looking at the list, it makes me wondering..Where is Malta in this list? I think Malta should be right up there with Gibraltar. Malta host many of the good european sportbooks, and even Betfair is moving over there with some of their business (yeah know its an exchange, but still).

The maltese government really takes this seriously and its not so easy to obtain a license. The process obtaining a license really is professional handled. At the moment the maltese government is running a case against France for monopoly on horse betting in France. Case not resolved yet

But maybe Malta should be added to that list..

Malta has had a large number of the scamming European operations. Their level of regulation and the books that have chose that location in the past don't speak to well for them. Malta certainly WANTS to be a popular jurisdiction, and with their English speaking population they could handle a lot of UK business, but they have a history to overcome. Am glad they are taking the regulation seriously now, but that wasnt' always the case.

Yes, but history is history. They have moved on and their gaming commision is doing an excellent job at the moment. Betfairs interest, together with well established companies like unibet, expekt etc speaks for itself. Knowing that the country is desperate for money, im surprised to see them turning down so many applications. At least that is a good sign.
