    question for the nascar guru's
just how much cheating is there really in this sport ?

the reason i ask this question is because of all that talk surrounding yesterdays daytona 500.

Them crew cheifs are always looking to adjust things they arent suppost to, to get the edge on the other teams. Some just do it more and get caught more. Chad Knaus is just known to do it more often, that is why he got suspended and is looking at a 4 race suspension after more review of it.

So Im sure there is alot of cheating in NASCAR, just some get caught more then others because they adjust things to far.

so let me get this straight then, NASCAR don't care if you cheat or not ?

how can you consider this a real sport, if the powers that be don't care if you cheat ?

So.....they know that Johnson was racing an illegal car, yet his win is not taken away? Way to deter further cheating, NASCAR.

No, they found that out after post qualifying inspections. Thats why Chad Knaus was suspended from the Daytona 500 and also for the next 3 races.

They do inspections on the cars after each qualifying. If a alter is found, they must fix and start at the end of the pack. I think they do a post race inspection as well.

So they do try to cheat, but most cases are found. But Im sure some get by the inspections, but we will never know for sure.

Crew cheifs dont call it cheating, they call it trying to get every edge possible.

they should have took points away from him. thats yet another reason why nascar will never be considered a major sport in my eyes.

Thats surprising they didnt. They usually do. Hell when Dale cussed on the tv broadcast, they deducted points from him. Which I thought was wrong because it wasnt anything the happen on the track.

Maybe they didnt last week, because it was the first race of the year and no one had points at the time of the infraction. Thats the only thing I could think of, because NASCAR officials are pretty strict and chicken shiet.
