Does anyone had this problem with them? They use to tell players they double-hit the line, and threaten with closing or do close accounts, although the players can do absolutely nothing about it. This is a question to all pros (are there any left with them?).

#2first off, welcome to the sbrforum Z
i never had any problems with 5dimes before. as far as the double popping goes, if there s/w allows it, i doubt they can give you a hard time over it.Comment -

#3what does the term "double hitting" mean? I am betting on under/over 2,5 goals with them and they never said anything to meComment -

#4I think he is referring to betting the max limit on a line, then doing it again seconds later.
I've done this on some MLB games before but they didn't have a problem with it. Their limits are $500, so if you want $1500 at a certain line, you have to bet it 3 times. And quickly, before they change the line.
They kinda book like pussies for a place that calls themselves 5dimes.

#5It is mostly about the delay in changing the line. It is automatical but I think it always has to be confirmed by the linesman. Sometimes it is a question of seconds but it can even take up to 2-3 minutes.
"Double-hitting" is not about one player. For a single player all is regulated. You can bet max again only after the line changes. But here there are always at least two involved. But not necessairly, even hardly ever, they know each other or are aware of each other existance.
Suppose I go max for Barcelona at -110. The new price will be -120 but the change is not immediate. Now if any other player fancies Barcelona prior to the change we have "double-hit" the same line, and that is a serious crime according to 5 dimes.
With regular players this can happen maybe not so often. Although in bigger sportsbooks than 5 dimes it is probably normal. But when it comes to so called professionals (always max limit, searching for a good line which may be about to move) the risk is much higer. You simply clash with the other pro player sooner or later.
But the funniest thing is that in 5 dimes does not understand it. The problem they see is not in their line changing procedure but in us, the players! According to them "double-hitting" is never a coincidence (I had this once in 500 wagers so how else can you call it, for God's sake?), it is always purposeful action aimed at exceeding their limits.
In my case it happened 3 times during one and a half a year. And they closed my account.Comment -

#6They don't like guys working together and both hitting the line at same time or close together. If you do it even a couple times you will likely be kicked out. Now that isn't to say that all people who bet at the same time are working together, if you were chasing steam or playing them against another book that opened lines at a certain time that could happen too. Either way you won't get much sympathy from them as once they have established a policy, they rarely make exceptions to it.Comment -

#7I do not want their sympathy. I just want them to be fair.
"Here at 5Dimes we set limits on our games for very important reasons, and we always keep a very strict control on them.
You must be aware that by wagering among other customers/friends in order to go over the limits is considered one way of disrupting the limits rules that we have, for example, on our soccer matches.
This kind of conduct is dealt with little patience since it is considered a way of taking advantage of the limits that we set. If you continue with this practice, your limits will be cut in half or your account closed. "
Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they suggesting some collaboration?
OK, it's their policy, a bit strange one though. Anyway my conclusion is that no pro player will get any sympathy from them (they'll be kicked out sooner or later instead) and therefore the book should not be advertised as "for professional players".Comment
