    there is a couple of interesting matchups.

    Matchups announced for Bracket Buster games

    BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) -- No. 25 Northern Iowa will host Bucknell in one of ESPN's BracketBuster games to be played next month between prominent teams from mid-major conferences.

    The cable sports network on Monday announced its 13 feature games that will be played either Friday, Feb. 17 or Saturday, Feb. 18. The games include nine teams that played in the NCAA tournament last season.


    Game times will be announced Feb. 7 along with the channel they will appear on -- ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN-360.

    Northern Iowa (19-3) has been in the NCAA tournament the last two seasons and is ranked in The Associated Press' Top 25 for the first time this week. Bucknell (16-3) is 7-0 in the Patriot League for the first time since 1994-95 and beat Kansas in the first round of the NCAA tournament last season.

    The other matchups include: George Mason at Wichita State; Missouri State at Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Louisiana Tech at Southern Illinois; Buffalo at Iona; Fresno State at Creighton; Akron at Nevada; Butler at Kent State; Marist at Old Dominion; Northwestern State at Utah State; Samford at Ohio; Albany at Virginia Commonwealth; and Northern Arizona at Western Kentucky.

    lot of really good matchups here...should make for an interesting Saturday...

      Northern Iowa/Bucknell should be a good one.

      Bucknell has a perty good team. the probly with this team is that there always out classed.

        a lot of WAC and MAC teams in there as well...don't see a whole lot of these teams making the tourney though...

          the MAC always has a nice turnout in the tourny it seems like. but, when your a mid-major you don't get the respect like the big conferences do for some reason.

            Level of competition would be one reason.

            Bias towards tradition probably moreso, though. Right or wrong, people will give more credit to a mediocre team from a tradition-rich program than a strong team without a history.
