What's the story on this, Bill?
Did Sportingbet admit a mistake/fraud or did they do it out of "goodwilll"?

Very good news. I hope this kind of thing isn’t a problem with this family of books—or with sportsbooks in general—in the future, but I’m not all that optimistic on that score.

They are calling it a "glitch". Mgt. says they submit the complaint to IT for review and they are the ones who adjust it. Common sense tells you the techs aren't adjusting 5 figures on player accounts.

They should be downgraded for an inability to safeguard players funds.
Case closed.

I am sure this is known by lot of people, but Roberto published a nice piece on this situation at TOW and this was an interesting part that I had heard from others as well:
TOW was recently made aware that two well known "databases sellers" claim being able to provide Sportsbook.com databases complete of players account numbers, full names, logins and passwords. We obviously declined the offer to purchase said data.
Sportsbook.com has a rather high personnel turnover and pays its clerks the lowest wages in the industry. It is safe to assume that some clerks may wish to "round up" their salaries by selling sensitive data. Eventually, given our findings on the databases black market, the book's internal security is unable to protect its customers information from being dispersed on the black market.
The fact that username and passwords are possibly for sale by database brokers is very scary. I am personally withdrawing a lot of my funds. Granted without football I won't be betting as much anyway, but this is certainly not a book to feel safe have a big balance just sitting around at.

Meanwhile, they still haven't informed thier cusotmers of the need to change thier passwords. Seems to me like they just don't care if some players have thier balances wiped out.

It took you so long marc to figure it out, that they just DON'T FUCKING CARE?! They have everything a sportsbook operator would want, they could be undisputed number one in the world, but they just DON'T CARE! ****'EM...
