Reminder:The next 30 days is the most dangerous time to have funds in OS Sportsbooks
We would just like everyone to be careful this time of year on which books you keep your accounts funded with.

    01.13.2006 (05:42 PM CST)
Reminder: The next 30 days is the most dangerous time to have funds in offshore sportsbooks. It’s a ritual that is repeated every year after the Superbowl. Many new sportsbooks and few beat too badly to continue will be taking bets with their bags packed. When the dust settles and the Superbowl champs head to Disney many players discover their sportsbook was little more than a Disney fictional character pretending to be a sportsbook.
This is a dangerous time of year for sportsbook players: FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS ONLY KEEP FUNDS AT SPORTSBOOKS RATED B+ OR HIGHER.

      LOL@freebie

i think your money is safe there, even though there a "B-" ,I know i don't make the ratings, but i'm suprised there not a "B+" book in the first place.

If SBR chooses to release such a statement I think it would be appropriate for them not to profit from sending players to any books rated below B+. In all fairness one would expect affiliate links to aforementioned books (rated as low as D+) suspended until further notice. Am I right or am I right?

Persoanlly I would like to see mansion stick with one business model for a full year. Switching from a sportsbook to an exchange without even letting their players know was a bit of a shock to me. Maybe thats what they intended to do all along. Come out as a sportsbook, build a database of players and then switch to an exchange. Hell I dont know, but I would feel better about them after their 1st year in their current model.

mag, we wouldnt take down links to any book. We advise players to stay with the Blue Chips but if they are hell bent to play at a D+ then SBR should get the referral. We do our best but make no mistake, this is a business and people feed their families working here.

As for Matchbook? The footnote there is they are backed by WSEX which carries an A rating.

The last two years we have only seen a handful of books fold after the superbowl. This year it looks like we will have a dozen+.

When was Mansion not an exchange? When one of my Betfair-using friends sent me to their site a year or so before it opened they were calling themselves an exchange...

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Mansion (SBR rating B) steers players toward "exchange style" sports betting.
Players entering the sportsbook today were stunned to see Mansion offering full vig prices. Reduced pricing will now be offered only in the betting exchange as their traditional sportsbook division is phased out. It is likely that exchange-style wagering will be Mansion’s sole betting offering by the NFL regular season.

The exchange functions much like a normal sportsbook except players have the ability to see how much money the book will take at the current odds before the line is moved. Matchbook (SBR rating B-) uses a similar betting interface. Below is the response sent to players who inquired about the changes:
"Thank you for your inquiry. There has been a change in pricing offered on our Sportsbook and you may be wondering how to find the same value you have come to expect from MANSION. The good news is, MANSION is still offering the same value by posting these prices through our Sports Exchange. We have made modifications to our exchange interface to make it more user friendly for customers who are comfortable buying from a sportsbook. MANSION Sportsbook, like many other MANSION Sports Exchange members, will offer our low margin / high limit odds through the new Sports Exchange interface. If you are interested only in “buying” a position on an event, the Sports Exchange is simply a new sportsbook interface. If you would like to have a position on an event at odds that you do not see offered on the Sports Exchange then you may want to join the many MANSION Members who have discovered the benefits of acting as a “seller”. Try our Sports Exchange – you’ll be glad you did. If you require any assistance we are here to help 24/7. Thank you for betting with MANSION.MANSION Customer Service"

That article says they were steering players from the sportsbook to the exchange. The exchange was always offered, but the sportsbook was originally low juice as well. Back during the middle of baseball season I was matching offers on their exchange.

Mansion always had an Exchange. I remember playing their UK Football matches when they first opened.

Just curious why isnt First Fidelity rated an A book?? It seems these guys are just as good as Cris (which I play with also) as a matter of fact I think there customer service might even be better. Can Bill or SBR John or any MOD tell me why there only a B+ book. Im sure u guys in Costa Rica are close by enough to be able to moniter FF. I could be wrong but I hardly ever hear any posters metion them and all I've seen with FF is easy payouts and a great web page and great customer service. To me they seem like an A book. Before anyone thinks otherwise I am not a schill nor do I have any doings with FF other than a satisfied customer for 2 years.

No, not used them personally - just giving you an idea why they don't have an A rating.

datek, I imagine the ratings are based on more than whether they are 'packing away'. You cant get an A just because your not planning on catching the night train with everyones cash.
