Ridiculous. They should have automated the Home Plate ball/strike long time ago.
That was egregious. Ref was just being a dick. You see this pattern sometimes with bad umps:
1) Marginal call (like strike 2). Batter shows him up.
2) Egregious call (on strike 3). Not even close, ump made a power play.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -
I don't see how an ump can do that with a straight face; if he's going to teach the batter a lesson, do it on a pitch that's borderline. That ump should be suspended or fired.Comment -

That umpire should be done forever! I have no problem tossing the batter on the second strike when he hopped around. I'll bet a 100 bucks the ump said something after that pitch like, "I don't care where the next pitch is you better be swinging". Catcher hears that and calls for the waste pitch and umpire calls it.
