OT- computer guys using Chrome browser! free points if you can help me.

last week or so somehow when I type in one specific web site, into chrome browser it does not go anywhere I just get the letters of the web site I typed to disappear in address bar instantly when I hit ENTER, it does not even try to find the web site. And Im left on the same screen. ITs like somehow Ive put some parental block or some block of some sort on a specific domanin name. Also if I google saerch the web site and find the link for it in the search choices, clicking on it does nothing.

I can use any other browser on the same PC and get the web site, I Can use chrome on a different PC or phone and get the web site. I can to to incoginto chrome choice and get the web site. I have not Intentionally done this and I just dont see anything in settings in Chrome to adjust this. I could disable chrome totally and reinstall I suppose. but I could do it again. Any ideas what happened?

its just a normal sportsbook web site ive typed in thousands of times over the years.

its like I clicked on some block function?

I'd reinstall Chrome after deleting cookies, imo.
    Good luck.

You may have downloaded malware. Delete cookies and run anti-virus software.

Also check your firewall, Anti-spyware, malware, antivirus programS. You might have unknowingly added it to a blocked list let’s say in Windows defender for example.

Check this site on how to block websites (and unblock) using various methods.

Chrome is still better than Firefox and faster than MS Edge.
    Edge is sooooo slow.
However Firefox is a good alternative to Chrome.

start w/ your machine, if you don't already have it, I recommend free version of CCleaner:

    a) run cleaner to analyze your device, in addition, remove cookies
    b) run the registry cleaner as well to cleanup records

most likely due to the application itself, Chrome. Once you have cleaned up your device, remove the application Chrome. Reboot your PC to clear cache and reinstall Chrome,

ping me via PM if I can help,

    best of luck!

there are advantages and disadvantages to each; for example, if you do any work w/ VMware, Chrome behavior is much more responsive vs Firefox. Additionally, some functionality for these services is only usable via Chrome.

    generally, when someone asks for help they are looking for clear guidance just trying to be helpful;

good suggestion on wipe and restore however OP most likely has data on the device that will be purged unless it is backed up which could be a lengthy process depending on last back up.

Also, a restore takes much more time than reinstalling a corrupted application,

    good luck this evening Rudy

turns out removing the well known AD Blocker from the chrome extension did the trick. I have no idea why. worked that way for years until last week AD blocker . but doing that made the problem go away, putting AD Blocker back as an extension same problem. so Im using a different adblocker product.

did anyone have that idea below? LEt me look close and if not , Ill do a random draw for all that helped with a reasonable idea and give some points to a lucky winner.

I did hit it exactly. Adblock is a anti spyware, malware and antivirus program.

Glad you got it working. I forgot to also mention VPNs as well. I was scratching my head for hours trying to run a program only to find out my vpn was killing it. Congrats.

You didn’t have an answe. You just agreed with someone else. You’ve never given an answer unless it’s already given to you.

Then you double downed by telling hi to factory reset. Sure, you were joking but when someone has a computer problem, they are willing to try anything to fix it. If it was advice, it was bad and since you admit it was a joke, you are a bitch for suggesting it. Either way you are a dumb asshole, little bitch who played your self.
