#15What's going to be different come springtime?
Fauci and his cronies aren't going to declare anything safe enough to resume normalcy until there's a vaccine they can pimp to the public, and there's no guarantee they'll have it by spring.Comment -

Furthermore I didn't "call out" anyone on that very particular, I was just trying to bring a glimmer of hope to the discussion in the "five percent" thread. I knew it was a longshot, obviously.Comment -

#19Dude, big deal... Everyone and their mom was saying there wasn't going to be college football. If you want credit for that, you'd better get in line.
Furthermore I didn't "call out" anyone on that very particular, I was just trying to bring a glimmer of hope to the discussion in the "five percent" thread. I knew it was a longshot, obviously.
Bullsheet. The virus is dictating things. The virus calls the shot not the empty suits. The players? They started demanding their health be considered #1.
I called this result a month ago but only a handful here were onboard with me.Comment -

#20Not true. Many people here kept saying "there is too much money at stake to cancel"

#21Colleges are not cancelling the season because of the virus. They are cancelling because they cannot sell tickets and load up the stadiums. Alabama packs in 100,000 fans, even at a conservative number like $100/ticket, that is $10 mil PER GAME. Multiply that by 7 home games..... that is $70 mil before parking, concessions, licensed merchandise, local hotels/restaurants, . If there are no fans, the only revenue is television, and that is only 20-25% of college revenue.
NFL is a different story, their TV revenue is 70-75% of their total income. They can survive with no fans. College cannot.Comment -

#26I mean if you want the award, you can have it. But the general sense I had was that college football was always going to be a longshot, and NFL more like 50/50. I just thought it odd that AD's kept dragging the issue out when they had to have known fall football just wasn't in the cards, no matter how much money they stand to lose..Comment -

#29Repeat after me: we do not know the long term health effects of the virus. They simply cannot play until we know more which will hopefully be a lot more in Dec or Jan than we know today. Things are moving fast but not that fast.Comment -

Meaning depending on state , shot while covid positive, auto accident with Covid positive, underlying conditions with Covid positive, is all within the 226 males ? Thats .14% of the overall mortality rate in the US .
Are you now saying ,wait for years to see the long term effects ? People are living through this , you can't shutdown to wait years to see how the body is actually impacted by covid .
Get outside man , this isn't going away , no way to actual eliminate it. Commerce alone with keep it going . People need to live their life .
As for NCAAF , oh well , but hell with staying home "until this goes away " . It's not going shit !Comment -

#35You realize since the start of Covid , ages 15-24 males , there's been 226 listed as Covid ?
