Was that 0-7 SU or ATS, Tony?

In another thread there was a discussion about the viability of trends.

This looks like a viable trend that I don't think the public greatly considers.

Thanks for this post. (unable to transfer a few bettin pts)

this is SU, I would have to go back to see what the ATS records are.

I wouldn't put too much into it, as you can see from my post the season before 6 new hire head coaches went 4-2

maybe you're on the fence on one of these matchups, just throwing it out there

Tough for me to remember off top of my head but wanna say this season we have few coaches taking over way better situations than last.

Jets, pack, Browns all playoff caliber teams. Although I will be against browns ats week 1.. I do like jets quite a bit, pack too.

While this is worth noting, it is also important to note that the 0-7 mark was the worst ever, displacing an 0-6 record set in 2001.

The ATS record was 1-6, with Matt Nagy's Bears getting the only cover at +7.

Here's the scores and spread (and some comments) on each game:
    1. Packers d. Bears (+7) 24-23 - Aaron Rodgers knocked out of the game, returns to lead a 21 point comeback on SNF.
    2. Bengals d. Colts (+1) 34-23 - Andrew Luck's return game. The Colts were driving to win late in the 4th when Jack Doyle fumbled, leading to an 83 yd Cincy TD return to seal the game.
    3. Dolphins d. Titans (PK) 27-20 - A massive weather delay derailed this one, resulting in a game that took over 7 hours. The Dolphins scored on a 102 yd kickoff return following the delay and then a 75 yd TD pass shortly after.
    4. Redskins d. Cardinals (-2) 24-6 - Sam Bradford!
    5. Jaguars d. Giants (+3) 20-15 - Eli tossed one of his signature 4th qtr pick 6's, but still had a chance to win before tossing more incompletions inside Jags territory to turn the ball over on downs.
    MNF:
    6. Jets d. Lions (-6.5) 48-17 - Hilarious game showcasing Matt Patricia's complete and utter incompetence, as the Jets players admitted to knowing exactly what plays the Lions were going to run all night.
    7. Rams d. Raiders (+4.5) 33-13 - Oakland led 13-10 at halftime before Derek Carr got confused as to which team he was on and kept throwing the ball to the Rams defense, including a pick-6 with under two minutes to make the score look more lopsided.

Matt p surely gives the cardinals hope, might be his second year but he still sucks and I don’t think his team likes him much, lol.

Let's look at the 2019 match-ups again, with the spreads:

    1. Matt Lafleur, Packers +3 @ Bears
    2. Zac Taylor, Bengals +9 @ Seahawks
    3. Freddie Kitchens, Browns -6 vs Titans
    4. Adam Gase, Jets -3 vs Bills
    5. Bruce Arians, Bucs PK vs 49ers
    6. Brian Flores, Dolphins +6.5 vs Ravens
    7. Kliff Kingsbury, Cardinals +2.5 vs Lions
    8. Vic Fangio, Broncos -1 @ Raiders

Only one heavy favorite, and I don't expect Kitchens to give away his plays like Patricia last year. Conversely, Taylor is probably screwed. These eight coaches are surely aware of last year's 0-7 futility, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a 5-3 mark this year.

Tampa Bay should win easily over a bad San Fran team that's lacking talent at QB, RB and WR.

looking at this list my guess is they should do better than last year but not by much. i am picking Lafleur to get a win on the road. maybe Fangio has a chance too. at home i could see Kichens, Gase and Arians get the win but could also see them get upsetted. Gase and Arians arent new at head coaching so that gives them a small edge. i got the new hires going 3-5 or 4-4 SUATS

Everytime SBR posts something like this you have to automatically go against it. What’s the benefit for SBR employees to post info like this?

Arians Kitchens and LaFleur have the best shot

3-5 probably, 4-4 maybe, not a statistical difference either way
