Yep, that is ALWAYS the question. Brad Stevens was great with Celtics pre-Kyrie, he should be great again next year with Kyrie likely gone.

Pretty solid hire for Cavs. They say Beileins dream was always to coach in NBA, I bet its not about money. Plus how nice will it be for him not to have to go recruit all year

True. So instead he is making a Beilein to Cleveland.

He better hire an ex NBA player or 2 as assistents.

We see it getting worse every year. Players simply don`t want to put forth max effort for 82 games.
As a college coach, who has his players killing themselves every single game, he better get woke soon.

NOW, with Kawhi basically taking 25% of the season off for " load management" and playing like a beast,
    it will only get worse.

    1) Why pay big $$$ for season tickets or even 1 game when you know there is a possibility of your team chilling?
    2) Why tune in?? Regular season? Fukk that nonsense.

Playoffs have been great IMO. How many huge effort plays at the rim every game?

Cush job at Michigan, unless he was hurting for cash or something's gonna come up where his job is in jeopardy, why go to a bottom dwelling nba team with a volatile owner..makes no sense.

Must be burned out. Otherwise this is a cash grab where you are hired to be fired.

This guy could miss the ncaa tournament next year and the year after that and be under no pressure at Michigan. Different story in the pros. He will need to get the Cavs into the playoffs. Better hope they win the lottery!

Does Beilein have any NBA coaching experience?

    Surprised about this deal.

    GM's making crazy moves lately.

lol after this playoff season you still think the regular season matters to anyone?? kawhi is paid for what he is doing now. not playing the nets in september. regular season games is something to do. no ones cutting their teeth in january lol.

He's 66 and just wanted the personal achievement of saying he coached in the NBA. The amazing thing about Beilien is he's never been an asst coach. Always the head coach wherever he went.

I really doubt he'll matter much to the Cavs. NBA coaching is about as overrated as MLB manager. The only pro sport where coaching matters is NFL.

Beilein is a terrific coach but he's old and the Cavs are a very young team. I don't know if they'll buy into what he's selling. It hasn't worked too often at the pro level where a proven college coach has done well but the Cavs have been trying to go this route for a long time with no success in landing some of the bigger names in college. Time will tell if Beilein can turn the Cavs around like he did with Michigan but coaching in the NBA is worlds apart from coaching in college.

Fock!!!!! I knew he would eventually burn out but I didn't think it unrealistic that we could keep him 'til he was 100 or so ;/ He's been great for the program, put us back in the mix for a change, sad to see him go.
