it would have served him right for a deliberately betting a bad line...of'course he will play "stupid" and pretend like he didn't know...try betting a bad line at any offshore book, even the A+ books, and see what happens...

Funny though as when slot machines hit for incorrect amounts due to a glitch(Like 2 million dollars), the player only gets the proper amount.

Slots would be an actual glitch from the system/computer.

    This incident was human error.

Bettors merely bet what is offered to them.

Fanduel should have eaten this from the beginning to keep it from giving the sports betting industry a black eye after if JUST GOT THE PASS!

Some politicians have already been pushing for federal regulation & if you think an incident like this doesn't stand out & give them an even greater reason to pursue it, then you're not being honest with yourself.

These senators don't know the 'bad line rule' like we all do.

    All they see is controversy.

Not a good look for something just getting underway.

So will they keep paying every time they post a bad line? Shot takers will be licking chops shopping all day for a bad line to post so they can jump on it

probably because slot machines advertise what payouts you will get when you hit winning matches. so when it malfunctions and gives you a payout that doesn't match what is advertised on the machine then you wont get that because you knew what you should have got before you placed the bet and they are still abiding by the contract of what you should be paid if you win.

when you place a sports bet and they advertise a bad line then if you win and they don't give you those odds then they are breaking a contract with you since they are not giving the price you agreed upon.

well i'm not sure if that is stealing or not but i would say the difference is that the agreement between you and the bank was to get 200 dollars but they messed up and gave you more. they never agreed to give you more though. when you make a sports bet the agreement is that the bet is +75000. if the agreement was -600 and they gave you $82k instead of $19 then they would be able to get their money back.

i know both are mistakes but the difference is that one mistakenly gave you something they didn't agree to and the other mistakenly agreed to something that they didn't want to.

im not saying its not a malfunction. but if a casino offers a bet and someone takes it then they have a contract with that person for the odds they mistakenly gave. on a slot machine they didn't offer you the wrong odds when you bet. they offered you the correct odds but the machine mistakenly tries to pay you more than you are owed. its not breaking the contract to pay out the correct odds on a slot machine (that were accepted by both the casino and the gambler before the slot bet) even if the machine says you should be paid more because what you should be paid was already determined beforehand. it is breaking a contract to not pay the odds you mistakenly posted on a sports bet since those were the odds both parties agreed to before the bet took place.

Maybe if you make that bet on a bad line at an actual ticket window.

it doesn't matter. they are the ones who chose to have a program offering odds on their behalf. no one is forcing them to use it.

How about these scumbag books like Wm Hill barring bettors that bet against their juiced lines? Some even before they cashed a bet.

NJ needs to ban that practice altogether. If you advertise protection and regulation for the player opposed to illegal books you need to honor that.

Can anyone name me one offshore book that would have paid this?

so now the argument is that FD should have paid it from the start

Jersey can’t win with a few of the SBR higher ups here
