There’s plenty of ways to reduce your size in futures specially if you’re trading the mini. grains, or the mini currency’s or micro gold

You can do call and put spreads with futures The liquid products and I think there’s about 10 that are very tight

You also can do straight out future calendars buying the front month selling back months or vice versa Which greatly reduces buying power and margin requirements

I probably forgot more than you know about financial markets and trading

    Thanks Chucky!

    I really like MORT.

It's an ETF around Mortgage Reit income.

It's been solid and has a decent chart.

    Dividend near 8%.

It's one of my favorites and fluctuates very little when the market is going nuts.

    I sold it at 1.71.

    I just bought 1 Call to close C 7/20/18 67.50 @ 1.18.

Hey Range, good to see you!

They are so expensive depending on strike price, but I see that bet brewing.

Could cost 9 or 10 grand but it sure could climb in value.

After the dividend ex date on a couple of those bond ETF's, I'm selling them. I took some of the cash out of this account and it will raise 10K cash for some positioning.

I have MORT and 400 shares of it, I don't need those Schwab funds, this account can do better than that.

Yeah so things dropped like I hoped, but right after I bought at 2.06. This option went all the way to 1.65...

The good news is that I sold the 69 call and raised money. I bought this stock at 66.26 and basically lowered my cost .75 and raised my exit point to 69 with the option trades.

I was about sell Citi earlier this week, I don't what I was thinking. With the latest news, I think I can trade this one for cash.

Sports plays coming soon in this thread.

    Sold 100 shares HYLB @ 49.055.

I bought this at 49.37, received a $26.35 dividend and should have qualified for a dividend today. I'm not seeing the dividend ex date of today and I don't like this anymore. The trades were commission free through Schwab.

    Sold 100 shares SCHZ @ 50.5039.

Same deal, it was bought as 50.48, I should get a second monthly dividend of around $11.

Again commission free through Schwab and I freed up some cash in the account.

I bought $10,000 worth of SWVXX.

It is money market mutual fund that has a current 7 day yield of 1.87%. Another commission free trade.

It has a one day settlement and I must sell to free up the cash, it will not sweep automatically but will settle faster than other trades.

    Dividends and income received recently…

    USRT div. $49.70
    MORT div. $150.17
    MORT Inc. pymt $2.67
    SCHZ div. 12.20

Things are up overall in the account and I am short a Citigroup call for next Friday at 69. IT looks like a well-placed short so far. I sold it for 103 and can buy it back for 12.

I also Sold $5000 worth of SWVXX.

I have to sell manually to free up the cash, it settles in one day.

This will change. I have made no plays in the fund as it has just gotten off the ground and the criteria were too fluid for me this time of year. I am working on a way to create value that adds up, making some value perhaps better than others but the cost of that can only be mitigated by changing bet size. That didn't seem appropriate.

I am going to replace the fund in this account with a CFL Sharp Forecast Fund that gets the sharp forecast plays with a .5 discrepancy against the market, no matter what. This fund starts next week but had we been doing an early season stacking or sharp fund, it would have performed nicely.

I may start another thread and just get the plays copied into this thread but of course the forecasts are all in the CFL thread.

    These plays start next week.

Here is a quick snapshot of the current account positions. This does not include the $5000 sport fund, of which there have been no trades. That fund will change.

I am down on two positions, GE and LNG. GE has come back a bit and LNG has only recently turned negative.

I have removed approximately $5714 of cash from this account, which will show in the increased allocations and there have been $390.85 of dividend and interest paid, including money market.

I have switched sport funds for this account, added $5000, and have moved $10,000 into the KVB CFL Sharp Forecast Fund. This fund will track the KVB CFL sharp forecast as it is compared to the point spread marketplace for every CFL game beginning July 19th. Totals and moneylines will not be considered here.

If the opinion of the sharp forecast has at least a .5 point discrepancy against the market, a bet will be triggered. The sharp forecast uses adjusted scores and sometimes a team will have two possible outcomes, or scores, that have been weighted with equal probability. Both predicted outcomes will need to differ from the market by at least .5 points for a bet to be triggered.

There will be times when no bet is triggered and there will be times, it is possible, where two bets are triggered, resulting in loss of vigorish or a middle. This Fund will not wait for a better line, even if I think it is coming, on a bet that is triggered and will always bet as soon as possible.

This fund will be aggressive and the unit risked or each play will be 3.5%, or $350.

Plays will be posted as they are generated but there will be little analysis in this thread and I encourage anyone to visit the CFL thread for more analysis and information about the forecasts.

    This week’s plays so far…

    Saskatchewan +11 (-110) over Hamilton

Ottawa -6.5 (-102) over British Columbia

    Winnipeg pk (-108) over Toronto.

    Good Luck.

    Sold 10 Calls to Open HIMX 7/27/18 8.00 @ .17.

This generated, after fees, $158.39 for the account.

A dividend date is coming on 7/19 and I expect a little pressure following the date. The account holds 1000 shares of HIMX at an average cost of 8.05 per share.

Maybe we squeeze a little out of the movement.

Becoming bearish in the short term for this stock so I don't see much risk. If I get called away I'll lose 50 on the stock but pocket the 158.

I can always retake my position if I'd like to.

When and if it stays below 8, I'll pocket the premium and do it again.

Squeezing out some dollars with what I have.

As long as I'm psychologically comfortable with getting called away at 8.00, then everything is cool.

It was a tough decision for 150 bucks...lol.
