Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series (+2500)...

It doesn't get much better than this, boys.

This line was around +500 to start the season, and now at the quarter mark, we can get +2500. Can't turn that down. The season is a marathon, folks. The NL West can still be had, they are only eight games out.

Just smacked this bitch for $400. Will be looking to clear over 10k come October.

Sometimes this gambling is just too easy.

Forget that this lineup isn't very good, the pitching staff is mediocre at best.

The bullpen is a mess, too.

Classic case of buy low, not a bad bet at the price.

Well good luck there Giant. To me its a life raft floating in the ocean with multiple holes and the people on the raft probably don't have enough patches to fix the problem. We shall see.

I like your attempts to create major value ( I think you mentioned GS Sweeping for value over Houston). Future bets are fun like the 200/1 shot that Kurt Warner and St.Louis was in 1999 and hit, but I don't like your chances here at all.

It is a bad bet because there's no realistic chance of this winning. Although MLB is more of a crapshoot than other sports and you can possibly land a nice price on a team with potential to upset other teams, this particular bet is only good if The Giant has tons of money (and waste-sorry) to spare or it's just a reason for him to root for LA.

I always said if it got to +2500, and the season was still young, I would play it.

Unfortunately they're facing Max Scherzer tonight, which means I'll probably have a bad line as of tomorrow.

There is a good chance the front office will make some kind of move. Plus, Julio Urias (heralded young pitcher) might come back sometime this season, too.

Not true at all, Dodgers could still win 85 games, which may be enough to win that division.

    Not at all.

It's not like your prediction was money related. No books are offering "no playoffs".

Just settle down and go back to sleep.

They will turn it around at some point as they have to much team talent to remain this bad... They won't win it all though.. Don't have the pitching this year...

Too many to name off hand... The pitchers that did come back have looked horrible this year compared to last years numbers so far..

"The (2017 Los Angeles) Dodgers have been coasting for weeks now as they near the end of the weirdest season in baseball history. How in the world could the same team that went 91–36 through almost five full months of play come within a 1–0 win over the Padres on Sept. 1 from losing 17 in a row? Here's another view of the oddity: After losing two straight on July 20 and 21, Los Angeles went 25–5 and never dropped consecutive games before falling into a 1–16 spiral that includes both a five-game losing streak and its current 11-game skid. How do you explain that? Coasting, as we shall see, is one big part of it." - Tom Verducci in Sports Illustrated (09/12/2017, Weirdest. Season. Baseball is one of those sports in which the best team doesn't always win. Case in point, the San Francisco Giants winning multiple World Series with a lackluster offense. This makes a case for the Giant's bet, but the bet is to win the World Series and not the division. Those Giants teams were well-coached and had clutch contributor, and great defense and pitching. I don't think this Dodgers team ( 85 wins or not) has the same "make up" as those SFG teams. The price is nice, but I'm sure there are better teams to put the 400 dollars on.

Stellar pitching beats hot hitting every time.. Look at Kershaw's numbers over the years when he's dialed in especially in the regular season.. Something to it... I like to bet on good pitching in MLB first.. Team streaks are solid as well...

not seeing it last year, i know they started off slow last year then got really hot but this year feels alot different, the lineup is just awful , unless they make some major trades this lineup is just not good enough to contend, also kershaw doesn't seem right from game 1 his fastball velocity has been down he might not get right all year

    The Dodgers have serious problems

But they always make a move to improve

West isn't that great, will 87-90 wins do it?

Once they are in the playoffs that staff could take over....they are good enough to get there

Might trade for Dozier and a 5th starter from MN to bolster

    I like this bet

Four days ago they were eight games out, and (+2500).

    Today they're 5.5 games out, and it's still (+2500).

So, naturally, I just put another $200 on it.

    $600 to win $15,000.

This team is too talented, and has too many resources to not make the playoffs.

Johnny, the Dodgers don't necessarily need to win the World Series for me to make money here.

They just need to make the playoffs.

    They're making the playoffs.

    I think.

They are starting to play better of late.. I'll give them that much.. Might run into a buzz saw this week facing the Rockies though.. Already lost game 1 in this series..

i wouldnt say that. they were 8 games out. and you paid a lot for a brand name

still a ton of work to be done to even win a playoff series. but you have a chance. i just hate futures on popular teams seems like you never get value

i wouldnt say that. they were 8 games out. and you paid a lot for a brand name

still a ton of work to be done to even win a playoff series. but you have a chance. i just hate futures on popular teams seems like you never get value
I disagree, I think Dodgers were undervalued at 25-1. And all they have to do is make the playoffs to probably be able to ensure profit.

And you're right, all I need them to do is make the playoffs. I'm not sure what bonusguy was talking about. +2500 was the best line available at any point.

im saying if it was a random city and not the defending NL champs who were 8 games back. similar team talent. it would have been like +4500

you paid a little for the dodgers name. but you obviously knew what you were doing and have a good shot
