With all do respect, that line movement was not only by design, but designed with the idea of selling Washington to "sharp" bettors as the market was underway.

...Look, there aren't enough games for some of the more sophisticated modelers to start shaping some of this market so it is up to the public and and the analysts using year to year data...

Pretty much agree except that eventually the market matures and sharp bettors will hit it, it's soft enough. It has been through the years and don't see a change, yet.

Remember, sharp money is relative and different groups become the sharper ones as the season progresses.

Yeah, it can be tough to tell this early in the season what's what but I know our ideas of sharp will converge soon enough.

Like I was saying, I often put sharp in quotes because I'm using it as a relative term. The sharp bettors in week 2 are not necessarily the same sharp bettors after say, 12 or 15 games.

But either way, that line movement in some of these games is a lot, I think books take advantage of that situation and make their own moves as well.
