Moving into an RV Full-Time

We've made the decision, I'll be taking a new job as a travel nurse and we have decided to buy an RV and live in it

Not sure yet what kind of RV we're gonna get, most likely a 30ft Class A or a fifth wheel. If we go 5th wheel, I get a new 1-ton pick up as well, cherry on top

Will most likely spend a majority of time in mild climates and chasing good weather

First job is going to be in Kennewick WA. Not much there but that have a real nice trailer park on the Columbia River, gorgeous scenery

He said we, so maybe was initially (nursing) to help people and to score women... but it seems he has a woman and a couple on the side (male nurses get laid!!!)

I bought a cheap older camper late last year to see if I really like it and have been away for a week or so 4 or 5 times so far and bloody love it.

The thought of buying a really good one and renting out the house and living/working in it whilst traveling is never far from my mind now.

Maybe you should rent a rig and try it out to see if it really suits you first too?

only real downside is the thirst that tornado's have for trailer parks and rv parks. if one comes and there are hundreds every year in the u.s.a you don't want to be in one or in a bunker watching all your possessions flying into a cornfield in nebraska.

Well it was a natural progression for me, I just followed the money. I was a paramedic for years, making $13/hr but had a lot of knowledge and skills, so decided on nursing. Add in life long job security and never being far away from a handful of ridiculously hot and horny young women made it a no brainer.

In the dept I work, we have 28 nurses, and 9 of us are men, so there's a nice balance.

Hey Opti, sounds like a blast. i'll look into renting. Right now the biggest hurdle seems to be we need the RV plus 2 cars, so I'm trying to figure out the logistics of that. Another important feature to us because we have a newborn is a W/D in the RV.

Once I iron out the weinkles I'll let you know how it turns out. Worst case, I take a small loss and sell it.

Thats avoidable, I just won't accept a job in the midwest during tornado season. maybe ever. If I'm going to do travel nursing and end up near a cornfield in Nebraska, I failed miserably

You never know how long you'll stay "on the road". My father-in-law, in his mid 50's, decided he was done with the corporate world. He was president of one Wayne Huizenga's companies and just got burnt out. So he came home one day with an airstream, told his second wife they were selling everything, and together they would travel the U.S. for a year. That lasted seven years. The guy is nuts, like most people who work their way up the corporate ladder. But he ending up writing two books: One about micro breweries and another book on Civil War locations.

Now he lives outside of Asheville where he has a small farm with chickens and goats. He also teaches a spin class two days a week at 7 a.m. He does the spin class for free because he wants the ability to kick people out of the class that don't live up to his expectations.

Also with a newborn isn't it kind of risky being in an RV? How do you schedule appointments with pediatrician for shots, check ups, sick, etc. Motion sickness? Babies don't like being in vehicles for long hours.

There does seem to be no fluidity to the stories.

One day he's banging broads.

The next day he's having a kid.
