Why Did Villanovas Coach Not Celebrate The Game Winner??
Someone please post his reaction to the buzzer beater
Some sources say it was a natural reaction because he had NC on the 4th Q spread

They said he didn't react because of his respect for Roy Williams. He knew how bad it must have felt on the losing end and didn't want to appear as if he showed UNC up.
If anyone needed showing up it's Roy Williams.

All business, that's what you want in a coach. You could tell he was blowing up on the inside, that's just how you handle your business. Act like that's how you drew it up, act like you've been there before.

I understand you don't want to go bonkers and show up your opponent, but I think he showed them up a little by having such an incredibly *understated* reaction like he did. Like "well, beating you guys on a last second buzzer beater is no big deal...."

"Act like you've been there before" is a great philosophy when someone does something they get paid to do regularly, like scored touchdowns and hit home runs.
It pretty much goes out the window when you go somewhere you've never been before, such as winning a national championship.

I just think be was in shock it went in and it wasn't the play he drew up lol and he is a class act congrats Jay

Agreed. Wright's understated hot dog routine was classless.
He should have dropped trou and done a Badger-copter, that way Williams would have known something truly wonderful happened for the other side.

Because that play was executed exactly how they drew it up. He knew the outcome before it even happened

Coaches don't like celebrating until the final whistle. It ain't over until the fat lady sings.

Uh no it wasnt. Jenkins was the 3rd option, and the coach even said so in the post game interviews. Cant stand everyone who thinks that this was the play they drew up. Yea it was an option on that play, but that was not the way they intended it to go. UNC just didnt cover Jenkins from the inbounds pass and the dude was smart enough to find the wide open guy.. Thats what happened

Well thats dumb because the ball was released with 0.5 seconds so how could there have been more time?

1st option, 2nd option, 3rd option it doesn't matter. That's how they drew it up. What kind of D1 coach draws up a play with one option?
