Offshore Winners and Losers in 2005 ?
    Winners:
How about the famous bookmaker Rick at MyBookie ?

Here is a guy who was there with Sacco in the Dominican Republic in the stone age of the industry. He made it to the top and then fell and fell pretty hard. So he scrounges up a job at lowly MyBookie and MyBookie makes a strong comeback from their own failed GrandCentral Sports days. Now here comes VIP and buys them and Rick is now finding himself reunited with his protégé Joe at VIP.

Rick my friends is a winner in 2005.

Baus will you write Bill, write him again if you have already, and lets look at your PTS problem if you don't mind.

I was under the assumption that everyone was made whole. If that is/was a Costa Rican scam we may be able to knock on a few doors.

John, i've been trying to help baus with a bailout offer. but, sense it was a perty big balance. i haven't had much luck so far. maybe Bill or yourself can better assist baus out with this one.

If Rick is the big winner, than it is players with a clue that are the big losers. MyBookie/GCS went from a place were one could actually make a bet (granted with small limits of maybe $250), to a place were players from forums were limited to the phone (where they pretty much could get read CRIS line after 5 minutes holds). Players were harrassed before they made a bet just because they came from a forum that MyBookie even advertised on.

Bodog and Bowmans seems to do quite well while managing all their action, would have been nice if Nine/MyBookie could do the same.

JMO as a bettor. Since MyBookie was sold, am sure Rick did a good job overall, but players have to consider the long term affects of this type of bookmaking on them.

My loser would be Mansion. Even if they turn a profit eventually, will take years to make back the tens of millions they lost with crazy prices in their exchange. Would love to sit down with the guys who came up with that and hear what they were thinking.

Winner: Pinny (unstopable...), Mansion (alrdy B+), Wsex (now that they offered some nice bonuses they get more attention on the boards), the Colts! :-P

Loser: WWTS, Bodog (i think players finally start realizing that this is no great shop...dual lines, late lines, limits cut), Bet365 (great potential but they scare away most of the experienced bettors), Basketball (dont you all hate those xxx full time outs, shitty to watch)

Over a million a day of off market prices offered in the exchange during the first half of the baseball season. Often ten cents scalps with major sportsbooks. This follows similar offerings although usually not daily in NFL last year and some soccer markets. If the credability they have now is from paying with a smile while giving money away it is the biggest loss leader in offshore history IMO.
