He did. They said his son had been in and out of rehab 17 times. His dad did everything he possibly could. We’ve all read about horrible situations like this. Tough love or better to just let an addict have their drugs or you end up with the violent and deadly altercation that sadly took place in their own home.

Yeah his son might have eventually od’ed, but considering how it turned out, Rob and his wife might still be alive had they let him continue on his own path to self destruction. Sometimes there is absolutely nothing you can do, they either pull themselves out of addiction or die.

But good old Pops said, “Hell no. I helped him once and gave him advice. I couldn’t do that. How many times would I help my kids? Idk but probably a lot. I couldn’t sleep well at night knowing my son was in a jail cell. The Bible talks about how many times we should forgive. Peter asked if 7 was enough. Jesus said 70 X 7, meaning that if God is forgiving us an infinite amount of times we screw up, we should forgive a lot as well. The prodigal son’s father had a huge celebration when his son finally came to his senses. His son once was lost but was finally found.
