1) I think Mark was a good (but not great) player. Howie long had the most accurate assessment of Gastineau: Pass-rusher first, not much of a run-stuffer. Joe Klecko, by comparison, was a much better two-way player.
2) Had the big sack year. Had a good career, but not HOF-worthy (imho).
3) Joe Thiesmann had a funny quote re: Gastineau: "Is he a self-promoter? Does the sun rise?"

Everyone I've talked to says that Joe Theismann had an ego as big as a house. Started out in the CFL after a contract dispute. Was a good player with an ego. Shattered in one moment on the LT hit. For all his critics, I do think he was quite good as a game announcer.

I saw the same thing. Also, unlike the Steelers, Bengals didn't make their QB NOT GETTING SACKED the offensive game plan against Myles Garrett. I'm sure Burrow had a say in that: 'If he sacks me, he sacks me. Let's play ball!'
