    UConn -6.5 over Florida Atlantic
This may be a 'homer' pick, but Coach Mora has made UConn football respectable again.
UConn is 8-3 on the season, and they're looking to go to 9-3 with a more lucrative bowl bid on the line.
FAU is a spotty 4-6, and they have no incentive (except to pad the stat sheet) to win this game.

    *Caveat Emptor*
FAU is a good home team, even though I think the Huskies should be a 10- or 11-point favorite; they do tend to blow road games they should easily win.

This should be a track meet; it should go over the posted 65-point total, especially if Fagnano and Skyler Bell are in synch.
Bell should be playing on Sundays next year. He's an electric wideout.
I don't know much about FAU's Veltkamp; he has a huge arm, the couple of times I've seen FAU play.
It should be a fun game; if I had the time, I'd fly to Boca Raton and watch it live.

    UCONN -6.5
    1*

They were in the Atlantic (AAC) with Tulane and that bunch a few years ago after the Big East dropped football.

They could play football in the ACC with Pitt, Syracuse, and the rest of the old Big East teams, but by staying Indie in football, they can play Big East hoops. (I think that's right, but I'm not completely sure)

The only other football Indie is Notre Dame, but they play hoops in the ACC.
I don't know exactly how it works, but I think UCONN and Notre Dame share the conference basketball money.

As advertised, the 1H was a track meet.
          27-17 Homeboys at the half.

Yeah, I guess as long as ND football program remains decent, they can remain independent. Geez, they’re the only team with national tv deal. Just find it strange that UConn also remains independent. They should join ACC.
