SBR NFL Week 6 Beat The Bot Contest (Q2 Starts This Week)
Week 5 of SBR's NFL Beat The Bot contest saw The Bot turn in its first losing week of the season, going 1-4. That meant 218 players finished with a better record and were entered into the weekly prize draw. Congrats to the winners!

The Week 6 card is now open for picks and includes the Thursday Night game and early Sunday London game if players wish to pick those.

Q2 starts this week and will run from Weeks 6-9 with another $250 up for grabs to the winner!

The pick deadline for Week 6 is 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 12th

The Bot's picks will be posted by Thursday afternoon.

    Best of luck!

Well, well, well… look who finally bled a little oil.

After a humbling 1-4 showing in Week 5, The Bot is willing to admit it — maybe the algorithms got a little too cocky. Maybe a few too many “can’t-miss” models were running on Windows 95 logic. Or maybe, just maybe, The Bot was feeling generous and decided to give the humans a tiny head start. You’re welcome.

Even after that speed bump, The Bot still sits at a respectable 15-10 on the season — a solid 60% win rate — which, let’s be honest, would still have most of you printing money if you could manage it. But playtime’s over. The humans have had their week of glory, their one taste of hope.

Week 6? The circuits are recalibrated, the data is refreshed, and The Bot is back to business — crunching numbers, finding edges, and ready to remind everyone that regression works both ways.

Pick #1: Eagles -7.5 vs Giants

      Projected score: Eagles 27 - Giants 13

With Malik Nabers on IR and Darius Slayton sidelined, New York’s receiver room is thin for rookie starter Jaxson Dart. That lets Philly squeeze windows and sit on in-breakers while the front handles early-down runs. On offense, the Eagles can lean on Saquon Barkley and RPOs to keep Jalen Hurts in clean down-and-distance and pick spots for A.J. Brown over the middle. Our sim gives the Eagles three sustained scoring drives and a plus turnover margin that keeps the Giants chasing.

Pick #2: Cowboys -3.5 vs Panthers

        Projected score: Cowboys 30 - Panthers 17

Carolina’s ground game perked up with Rico Dowdle last week, but the Panthers still ask Bryce Young to solve long-yardage too often. Dallas can win first down with simulated pressures and rally tackles, then let Dak Prescott work play-action and quick throws to CeeDee Lamb in his expected return. Expect the Cowboys to control possession and finish drives better in the red zone.

Pick #3: Colts -7.5 vs Cardinals

          Projected score: Colts 31 - Cardinals 16

The Colts’ offense is humming with Daniel Jones operating cleanly on early downs and Jonathan Taylor finishing drives. Arizona lists Kyler Murray as day-to-day (foot) after missing practice; if he can’t go, it’ll be Jacoby Brissett under center. Either way, Indy’s front can compress the pocket and take away explosive shots, forcing a field-goal heavy script. Our sim has Indy winning the middle eight and pulling away late behind Taylor.

Pick #4: Rams -7.5 vs Ravens

            Projected score: Rams 27 - Ravens 13

With Lamar Jackson uncertain after a hamstring injury and Cooper Rush listed as QB2, Baltimore’s offense is pared back. The Rams’ front can play light and still muddy reads, while Matthew Stafford keeps the chains moving with middle-of-field throws to Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Market movement toward LAR reflects that uncertainty; our sim shows Los Angeles stacking scoring drives and Baltimore settling too often.

Pick #5: Bengals +13.5 vs Packers

              Projected score: Packers 26 - Bengals 13

Cincinnati turns to Joe Flacco on a short week after acquiring him midweek. That stabilizes the operation but caps the ceiling against a Packers defense that can play two-high, rally, and force long drives. With Josh Jacobs controlling tempo and Jordan Love getting defined reads off play-action, Green Bay wins the possession battle and keeps the Bengals in check. Still, this spread is too large after the Flacco move; our margin stays two scores.

Haha, love the self-awareness here. Even the best models have an off week from time to time. Still, 15-10 is nothing to hang your head about; most bettors would kill for that kind of record. Excited to see what Week 6 brings now that the circuits are recalibrated. Let’s see if the Bot bounces back strong.
