I doubt he will win but I think he’s a top 2 candidate. The league doesn’t want old Matthew Stafford winning, they want Drake Maye and the Pats to be relevant.

Gaucho, I'm on RAMS -6 this week:
1) Lions still have name recognition. Not that strong this year.
2) Line is under a TD. Normally a win-and-cover spot.
3) Just listened to a Stafford interview. Guy couldn't be more locked in. He doesn't care at all about facing Former-team. Was complimentary of his Off Line. Has the view of a good teammate.

Mentioned the Stafford TD/INT ratio. He's having an unusually good year. Tells me that Staff and McVay must be locked in.

Gaucho, I heard a pretty good summary on the MVP race this morning:
1) Maye: could have taken lead w/ win today. Pats lost.
2) Stafford: could take lead if NE lost and Rams win.
3) Garrett: won't win it but merits a mention. Looking to set Sack record.

Funny thing is that as soon as Maye kind of shits the bed people start bringing up Josh Allen. Stafford is playing at an elite level right now - other than the Carolina game which they still had a chance to win despite the 3 TOs, he’s had a pretty amazing season.

*I really don't like how they set up the schedule. They line up the three additional games (beyond 6+4+4) based on Divisional finish in prior year.
...In 2025 NewEng/SanFran greatly benefited from their 4th-place finishes in 2025.
...It's like they got three walkover wins.
...If SEA beats the Rams, Niners in position to win out and win the Division. And I don't think the Niners are nearly as good as the Rams. SOMEONE in the forum listed Niners +750 to win Division (few weeks ago), and that might play out.

Yeah that’s how it always goes. One bad stretch and suddenly people want to compare everyone to Josh Allen. Stafford’s been really solid overall and honestly playing at a high level. Even the Carolina game wasn’t a total disaster despite the turnovers. One rough outing shouldn’t erase what’s been a strong season for him.

The Rams got Eagles/Lions/Balty and 49ers got NYG/Browns/Bears which doesn’t seem quite fair but the NFL wants some level of parity so the Divisional races are closer.

9ers are still 750 if you like that number. They have Colts/Bears/SEA for the final 3

Rams have played well against Darnold so I guess we will see what happens Thursday. Seattle has a tough 3 game stretch so betting +200 to win the division seems like a loser deal. They have been playing very well though so who knows. I am just riding my Rams futures at this point.

Jake, I really think it comes down to tonite's game:

1) If the Rams win, they should lock down the 1-seed. Rams (likely) go to the Bowl.
2) If SEA wins tonite, I really think the Niner win-out scenario plays out.
...If Niners get the 1-seed, they would be one of the lightest 1-seeds I can recall.
...If Niners get the 1-seed, I call for GBay to make the Bowl. I really don't see the Rams winning three road games.
