    Chiefs vs Texans ATS Pick

    Hey folks,

Back after a short vacation and diving straight into this week’s NFL matchup: Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead.

Both teams are in must-win mode, but their momentum could not be more different. The Chiefs are 6-6 after that tough three-point loss to Dallas, and they have now dropped 3 of their last 4. Even worse, they are 2-5 against teams with winning records this season. For a franchise that has dominated the league for almost a decade, this version of KC looks far less convincing, even with Mahomes still performing at an elite level.

Houston arrive in the opposite situation. The Texans are riding a four-game winning streak and have taken 3 of their last 4 road games. They are locked in a tight AFC South race with the Colts and Jags, so every win matters. Right now, they are simply one of the most in-form teams in the league.

Given the trends, Houston’s momentum, and Kansas City’s struggles, I think the points hold real value here.

    Pick: Texans +5.5

Anyone see it differently? Always open to hearing other angles.

San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Pelicans – NBA Betting Preview

      Hey folks,

Monday's short NBA slate includes a matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans, and based on recent form, this game looks more one-sided than the spread suggests.

San Antonio come in at 15-7 and sit fifth in the Western Conference. They are also in solid overall form, having gone 7-3 in their last 10 games. Even in Friday's loss to Cleveland, the Spurs had five players in double figures, with Devin Vassell leading the way with 28 points. They are also a respectable 6-5 on the road this season.

The Pelicans, meanwhile, continue to struggle through a brutal campaign. They sit at 3-21 and are last in the Western Conference. New Orleans have lost six straight games, and those defeats have come by an average margin of 9.8 points. They are also only 2-11 at home, which makes this spot even tougher.

Given the current levels, momentum, and the Pelicans' inability to stay competitive, the spread still looks playable.

      Pick: San Antonio Spurs -7.5

Vasco da Gama vs Fluminense – Copa do Brasil Semifinal First Leg Betting Preview

        Hey folks,

Taking a look at the Copa do Brasil semifinal first leg between Vasco da Gama and Fluminense, and this matchup feels like the kind of rivalry game where goals come at a premium.

Vasco come into this one in pretty rough form. They won only one of their last five league matches and ended the season with serious defensive problems, conceding 60 goals across 38 rounds. Their attack has also struggled, scoring in only four of their last ten matches. Add three injured players out of the lineup, and the outlook does not get much brighter.

Fluminense, on the other hand, are in better shape overall. They put together a seven-match unbeaten run in the Brasileirao and defended much better throughout the season. Still, their away form is a big concern here: only two goals scored in their last five road games, and just four matches with a goal scored out of their most recent ten away from home. They also enter this match with three injured players.

Both offenses have been unreliable, both teams have clear limitations, and tension usually outweighs creativity in a semifinal first leg.

Given all that, I like the lower-scoring angle here.

        Pick: Under 2.5 Goals

Anyone seeing this match opening up more than expected? Happy to hear different takes.
