Hands down it's baseball for me. I usually record a small loss during the football season and always net a decent profit with hoops and pucks. Hoops has been slow for me thusfar, but I expect that to turnaround.

#4football is probly one of the worst sports to try and make money off of in my opinion.
at least with hoops, pucks, and bases. it's a daily betting cycle, so the lines makers and media both can't get the correct info all the time like they do in football were the games are played once a week and, everything is disclosed on monday morning during the weekly coaches press conferences.Comment -

#5In terms of profit per bet average, it would probably be boxing. The problem is they don't have enough bouts to generate good, consistent $$$ for me.
Instead of guys fighting less than a handful of times per year, I'd like them to be more like baseball and have at least 162 bouts each.
But they won't do it. Bunch of pussies!
So my real answer would have to be: Major League Baseball.Comment -

#6Baseball and College Football are my most profitable sports and the two sports I find most predictable. I'm usually decent with the NFL, but I'm just below the break even point with it this season. I don't play the NBA and I don't start NCAA hoops till January so we'll see what happens then.Comment -

#8Baseball is a sport where I can really make a ton of money. All other sports I just hope to break even a lose just abit. If loses start to mount in any sport besides baseball I just stop bettin and go golfin or traveling for a week or two. Is it baseball season yet? APPLEComment -

#9Baseball and Hockey because you can get the dogs at a good moneyline and even if you split you can come out ahead. Plus you get good value with Baseball on the dogs with some pretty good pitchers coming in at a good comeback.Comment -

#10baseball and it might be my only profitable sport. the only other ive bet on is basketball and im slightly in the red right now but we'll see how the season goes. when I was only betting for 1.00 at pinnacle i hit a streak where i won 17 bets in a row which included some non-researched golf wagers.
I just started sportsbetting in late july and had such a hot streak in baseball i figued it would be so easy. not the case anymore
now im lucky to get 2 or 3 in a rowLast edited by newb411breaker19; 11-21-05, 01:33 PM.Comment -

#11I just feel football and basketball can kill you in the long run if you cant get up above 50% success rate. Because the vig will kill you , even on reduced juice shops. Thats why you got to pick your spots on these sports. This year has been a killer for dog bettors so far in both football and basketball, and I hope to see it turn soon. Maybe Bowl season will be different story.Comment -

#14Baseball, because dogs win every day and you can catch those hot ones and ride 'em for a while.
Basketball is usually good to me, but if these favorites keep hitting, it's gonna bury me. Come on, already.
The NFL is murder for me. My favorite sport to watch, but I just can't find anything in the lines.Comment -

#18Then of course you have reverse run lines. These really cashed big for me until the all star break. I thought I heard somewhere that books actually lose money on these types of bets. Can anybody confirm that?Comment -

#19The last two weeks of the regular season in bases, the favorite runlines were cashing nice for me. Thats when I decided to start back on bases. I stop right after the Allstar break because the value isnt usually there anymore. The teams mostly in the playoff hunt were the teams that were cashing on the RL. Built my roll up pretty nicely for the start of football season.Comment -

#20If most books had their choice, they wouldn't even offer bases. But they have to offer bases to keep players around all year for football and basketball so they don't go elsewhere. Funny thing is, even though its by far the easiest sport to make money at, very few people bet baseball.Comment -

#24I hit 90% of my posted plays betting movie props several years ago, was the best run I ever had. Now they lines are pretty sharp and the limits are smaller, but I still occassionally (usually big movies) find something to play.
Otherwise I think I have the best feel for football (NFL more than college), although this year hasn't treated me well. And I gets lots of very good advice in hoops and baseball, but aside from betting it for years am no expert.Comment -
