Virginia playing well lately

and as we saw when seton hall beat UConn it’s the time of year for big upsets

Well, first off, upsets have happened all season so to say that "this is the time year for big upsets" is way off base because they have happened literally the entire year. They have won 4 of their last 5 but to say they are "playing well" may be a stretch as all those wins are against the bottom of the ACC. I would have given them more credit with a win at Pittsburgh but Pittsburgh has fallen off a cliff of late so Virginia got them while they are playing their worst basketball of the season.

I will give you one thing this would have an ultimate upset, one for the ages. The problem comes asking where are they going to get their scoring from? This is not a good matchup for Virginia here and, unlike previous years where Viriginia won games by defense and out rebounding the other team, Duke holds the advantage in both of those categories. Duke is 6th best defense in the country this season. I look at this game and say Viriginia will have trouble scoring 50 points. Good luck Johnny but I can see a 20+ point route coming here.

I appreciate JV for getting conversation going. I mean many will throw the towel at him but at least he has the balls to put his plays out there unlike most who are always bashing him. And while this play is a MAJOR stretch anything can happen in CBB. We have seen it many times this season. I am a UNC fan through and through so a Duke loss here would make me smile. Having said that Duke is playing at a high level. Their loss to Clemson wasn't because they didn't play well Clemson just played great and made all the plays they had to at the right times. I just don't see it here. Virginia doesn't have the players to take advantage of this opportunity imo.

If JV wasn't such a dart thrower who provided insights rather than just ON IT he would get some slack. IN addition if you take the time to post plays take the time to grade your action. I don't give him credit at all. Others like Franz and Mr. Math I do give a lot of credit for their Methodology. I guess each to his own.
