Died yesterday at 86. He took over after Bart Giammati died suddenly in 1989

He was commish for only 3 years after owners forced him out. The owners didn’t like that Vincent paused the World Series for 10 days after the San Francisco earthquake. Owners thought it was too long. They replaced him with their puppet Bud Selig.

Vincent suspended George Steinbrenner and of course banned Pete Rose for life. It felt like he was commish for at least a decade. He lived longer than Pete Rose.
