Hanging em up for good. I wish you all luck.
Since I relapsed Ive lost around 10k. I had 2500 on the Bucks tonight. Predictably, they were up double digits then got blown out. It seems like it happens to me every time.

The other night I got drunk at my local card room and lost 5400. I can't even begin to guess how much I have spent gambling in my life, I'd set the overunder at 250k.

Ill take the under. And I would probably lose that too.

Gambling has cost me time, money, friendships, an ex wife, and strained relationships with my family. This is a disease we all have, we are chasing a rush I think. Even when we lose we get high. Sometimes I wonder if I am self sabotaging.

But I am out of the game for good now. I will try to rebuild my life and live a good life outside of this hell. I hope and pray God will help me and that freedom and a better life awaits. I will never spend another penny on either alcohol or gambling.

Goodbye and Best of luck to you all. I hope some of you will realize what a dead end this gambling nonsense is and try to live a better and happier life. Gambling is a massive lie, a fraud, an illusion.

All that being said take KC -1.5

At the beginning of each sports season, I allocate a certain amount of money I will play with. So much for college football, so much for the NFL, basketball, baseball. Once I run through my NFL money, which this year took only 5 weeks. I was done. I didn’t place another bet on the NFL. Same rule applies to the casino. If you are not disciplined enough to leave when you’re ahead or behind, then you need help and should let your wife and kids handle your finances.

With all respect, so you are a disciplined loser. I guess I am not. We are all better off putting this garbage behind us for good man. If you want to keep doing it, by all means go for it and I wish you the best. I will not gamble on anything ever again. Ive had enough.

I don’t always lose but I know my limit before I start. I don’t drink and gamble. I also only gamble with money I can afford to lose. I agree with you. We all are better off calling it quits but every man has to make his own bed. Many people need to eat better and exercise more but we all have our vices. But once the vice has a hold on you, it’s time to call it quits. You can do it. BOL

GL HW. Gambling a tough racket and most players do you lose $$ Long term. If you keep it to disposable income and use it for an entertainment value it can be controlled. If you think you will make a killing, ride the wave and always come out ahead one is sadly mistaken and in for a rude life lesson. Most that come out ahead are on the booking side. Booking operators are paying states Millions of $$$$ to do business in a specific state. They know they will win more than they lose. However for the gambler the reverse is true most likely.

Yeah it sounds like you need to cease all operations. If you don't wager with disposable funds and you are chasing large losses best thing to do is go cold turkey. I wish you the best of Luck moving forward.

Bro, a ton of Dogs this week don't let that get you down.

If you are being serious, it's probably the best Bet u will ever make giving this shit up. I've been gambling for over 30 years and I still don't no what I'm doing. It does take a huge toll on your mental state and relationships even if you do win. It's like the old saying goes. The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing. When you don't feel like that anymore comeback.

Props to HoleW on the post. Respect for the honesty.

Hole, Good Luck on everything. If you read the SBR posts, I think you'll see that it's mostly good guys here.

My opinion is firm on Gambling. It should be viewed as a Recreation. It's to be enjoyed as a Diversion.

I understand how you feel and where you are, but managed to get past that place and be able to gamble for fun without it negatively affecting my life in the end. So know it can be done.

I think the very first thing you need to make happen to solve this is to stop thinking everyone has the same problem as you. That it is a disease that can't be avoided. And that nobody can change the behavior.

If you can just get those ideas out of your head, your personal best way to move forward will become clearer I bet.

This was predictable after his thread a week or 2 ago and the many people that tried to talk sense into the OP...

Well said. We have great games monthly for real cash and totally free. People can cut their teeth on handicapping on those very games and see if they win.

You sound like me (except I don't drink). Considering you said only 250k lifetime you sound much younger than me. If that's the case dont waste time quitting. 250k, if you started 10 years ago and DCAed buying bitcoin, would be worth roughly 25 million

                                                    Maybe north of 100 mln

I think the very first thing you need to make happen to solve this is to stop thinking everyone has the same problem as you. That it is a disease that can't be avoided. And that nobody can change the behavior.

If you can just get those ideas out of your head, your personal best way to move forward will become clearer I bet.
This is kinda similar to what I wanted to say. And to add some of my own thoughts: gambling addiction is very real, and I sympathize with those who have suffered serious consequences from it. But what I don't like is the societal focus on cases of addiction that attempt to demonize gambling completely, and it's a reason many places don't allow us the freedom to do it.

I'm sorry if it's a disease for any of you, but for many of us it isn't - it can just be an exciting, enjoyable part of life. You could have pretty much the same discussion about sex or drinking or junk food or any number of things. Anything can be done in excess, but I think the freedom to choose is important. And just because you have an unhealthy relationship with something at one point in your life doesn't mean it's impossible to develop a healthier relationship with it later.
