*Side/Total?
...IE: Browns/Under? Or: BALT/Over?
...When a team total is this low, the Fav carries most of the Expected Points.
*SAT games with SUN games?
...Bill Krack seems to think that the Bengal result ties closely to some SUN games like Raid/Chargers.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#42If the Ravens are up by more than 2 scores in the 2H, they are benching their starters. Houston game aside, the Ravens defense isn't great and last I checked Jeudy is still playing.
+20.5/19.5
Browns TT over 10.5
Zappe 175+ yards, up to 250+ (plus live betting if it gets below 150 barring injury)
Jeudy 60+ rec yards, all the way up to 125+Comment -

#44I actually put some thought into this prop wager.
Lamar Jackson UNDER 43.5 rushing yards.
a) There is no way Harbaugh is running any QB draws this afternoon for Jackson, God forbid if the franchise should break a leg on some weird tackle, Harbaugh would be strung from his heels over the Chesapeake Bay.
I seriously doubt Harbaugh calls any play that'll harm Jackson.
b) I seriously doubt Jackson will see any relevant 2H playing time, if any.
I can't believe I actually found a wagering angle in the dog crap of a game.Comment -

#45This does remind me of an old-school NFL game:
*Ask someone of a certain age. Before a game like this you could poll ten guys in the sportsbook. Consensus would be "I love the Ravens".
...The number didn't matter. They were betting the Ravens on current form.
...Nine of ten opinions would be Ravens. Maybe one contrarian on the dog.
*Somewhere around the year 2000, database bettors picked up on this.
...They saw the Dog bias. The favorite lines were too fat.
...Dog bettors could thrive for a while.
*In more recent years, the spreads just aren't as big.
...Oddsmaker doesn't want to feed the Dog bettor.
...Shorter and shorter lines. More balance on value between Fav and Dog.
*In 2024 I do feel like the bottom ten teams are incredibly bad.
...The game-checks in NFL are now plenty.
...It's more money than most of these guys have ever seen. So, they're content.
...I do think the hungry athlete is going away. They're not as hungry anymore.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#49Originally posted by DrunkHorseplayerBaltimore only needs to win, regardless of margin and they may not even need to do that if Pittsburgh (a 2.5 point dog to a hot Cincinnati team) loses or ties; they'll probably be aware of the Cin/Pit score and might act accordingly. Given that, why is the line so high? Does someone know something about an utter lack of motivation on the Browns' side? The +20 looks way too good to be true.Comment -

Strictly basing on how bad Browns were and Harbaugh is that type of coach to keep pushing it. Not complete “pedal to the metal” but doesn’t mind getting little dirty and take risks. And that they needed the win.Comment -

...CLE QB play has been miserable this season. Can't see Zappe being a downgrade.
...Compare to pre-season expectations. How is this # possible?
...Divisional Dog angle. Cowher has talked about the NFC North teams having a scouting report for Lamar. They've seen him, less surprised by his unique skills.
...CLE was supposed to have a good defense. Don't think Garrett & Co want to get embarrassed.
...BAL wants to win. But they don't need to win by margin. Build a lead and clear the bench.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -
