Any recent experiences with DraftKings Onyx level?

Been part of DraftKings for 4-5 years now. I had Onyx level discretionarily given to me from 2000-2002. It took those whole three years to accumulate enough tier points to be a legit Onyx - so the status continued in 2023.

In 2023, my action was less on the site for a variety of reasons. When that year ended, they erased/reset most of the tier points - making me have to start over at the bottom level. Not a great experience there but I went on with 2024. In November, I reached enough tier points to be eligible for Onyx again.

With the Onyx level now “invite only” even if you reach the required tier points, I am wondering if it will even be given to me. Has been a couple of weeks since clinching and a host who was texting throughout September-November has not reached out at all lately.

Having had Onyx before, it’s not that big of a deal except for the yearly gift offer. But without a decent tier level, DK becomes just one of the crowd. I could reach out and bring it up but wanted to see what other experiences are out there.

I haven't gotten anything worthwhile for being diamond. I got the $100/gift thing last week. I'll get 1 credit for an onyx gift (or hopefully decent dk dollars) in January. All year the only thing my host ever gives me is bonus bets, dk dollars, and deposit bonuses. Never received any apparel or dk labeled gifts, never received tickets to a concert or sporting event. Even my mgm host where I'm only gold has offered me saints and pelicans suites, concerts, golf outings, free rooms at the beau rivage, watch parties at the beau rivage in private vip rooms. But the mgm app sucks so bad. And the one thing i care about the most that dk trumps everyone on is my withdrawals are instant. Like within 5 seconds.

My host usually responds if i message her but she never reaches out on her own like she did during the summer. And its like pulling teeth to get her to give me a bonus bet. I was getting $300 dk dollars weekly on request. Now its like I gotta beg for a $100 bonus bet. Last week she even told me she wouldn't give me a bonus bet because I had a deposit bonus and that was like getting a bonus bet...lol what??? Now mind you I only ask for bonuses if I go broke. Its not like I ask weekly just because. I really think that stupid king of the court thing is making them be stingy on the bonuses and promos. I notice on my boosts the terms are a lot more strict. -200 per leg instead of -500. 4 legs instead of 3. Everything is sgp instead of straight bets.

Anyways I hope the january onyx gift is at least worth $400. It sucks Im really close to 110, 000 tier which is a $750 dk dollar milestone but i dont think i can make it before dec 31st

Interesting to hear all of this, ThaWoj. It seems even the $100 holiday gift has been reduced this time. I recall getting a more decent list of stuff to pick from last year.

For Diamond, the January list of gifts seemed ok. I think there was at least an IPhone Plus expected to be offered and other items at comparable value. Worse case, I should at least get that even if Onyx is not approved.

I haven’t gotten any DK apparel except for one “Reignmakers” hat long ago. No big deal there. Agree the payout service with DK has been great. They have done well with that every time.

My DK host offered me tickets to NFL games a couple of times but I could not make them. There were extra DK dollars offered and deposit bonuses a few times, as well. Overall, it did seem like treatment was better and more personal a few years ago compared to now. Back when NJ was one of few DK states, they had more focus and after branching out all over it seemed to all become less.

That’s really too bad you haven’t been offered more, but the MGM treatment sounds pretty good. I never did much with MGM as I also didn’t like their app when I first signed on. The rollover for my initial deposit bonus on MGM was too hard to reach and I lost the deposit. Haven’t sent anything more since.

At least MGM has the advantage of enjoying time at their actual properties. That helps since at least online action can be combined with action at land casinos. I liked that with WynnBet when it was still around. Was able to rack up a lot of comp dollars online and spend them at Encore Boston.

It does help to hit the milestones with DK and that kept me plugging though to the 175,000 mark for Onyx. Even if I am not approved for Onyx, the unlocked milestones came in handy as I went along.

At this point, the Tiers (Onyx + Diamond) don't mean much. Any sort of gift/offer/bonus is almost entirely based on your win/loss, and your relationship with Host (if you have a Host).

Plus, 2025 Onyx is Invite Only, and apparently they do mean Invite. I've seen some people complain about not being approved for Onyx, or they need to reach-out to DK, and ask them for Onyx.

Except Onyx had significant stand-alone value in 2022 and 2023. For many people, it was worth chasing.....just to get the "guaranteed" annual/monthly perks.

I think that's what Reload is getting at. Onyx used to be worthwhile at DK, but now (as you said) the majority of DK falls into the "the more you lose" category.

Yeah when I first had Onyx, there was a mix of core benefits and more that was left to discretion. The gifts and bonus offers seem more up to the hosts/marketing which can be hit or miss.

I’d be a little surprised if I was not offered Onyx after qualifying again, but guess I’ll wait and see what happens.

Not true necessarily. I won $280k on them in 2023 and was given $30,000 in rewards according to the yearly summary from them.

This year I'm down $120k and have only gotten some useless custom shoes I gave to my wife and $300 in cash for X-Mas instead of the gift.

I picked the bundle of Apple gifts. Did the same thing a couple of years back for Onyx and it always seems like the best deal.

Onyx have to go through host to get dk dollars. Diamond has the option in the store. And I believe onyx get $1250 dk dollars.

The gift values are pretty solid. You can get over $2k per credit if you use them towards gifts. I opted instead to get the $1,250 DK cash for each credit. I'd rather get $3,750 cash then waste $7,000 on tiffany jewelry that my wife doesn't need.

Yeah exactly why I reluctantly chose the 400 bucks over the $1000 tablet or the blackstone grill I was looking at. The value of the 400 bucks is way more important to me considering my bank account and dk balance are both sitting at $0..

Ah $1250 per credit sounds more worth it. I could have gotten $3750. Barely made it to the third credit.

I ended up getting both Apple bundles - the two credit one and the one credit one. At least it’ll be two iPhone Pro’s and one MacBook Pro out of it all. The other stuff like the watches and air pods won’t be as worth having.

Might as well be cuz I'm done waiting on a response from my VIP host. Leaving $5 in for streaming purposes but I already made the switch to FanDuel. Lost out on at least 15k with these limits in the last wk getting kneecapped like this not even able to chase losses if so inclined. (would've won 11k on an Ant Edwards points prop but limited to less than $500 so didn't even bother). I'm sure he'll now get back to me & say I should've been patient & he was able to restore my limits but we both know that's bullshit since this was a risk management team decision.

How are you still able to bet that much there? I lasted awhile but they chopped me down hard early 2024. Basically done there. Had Onyx 2021-2023. Yeah, lots of benefits back then. Got my last elite reward early this year based on last year (5k in golf clubs!)

Fanduel limits plenty as well especially on live betting and they don't offer many of the props you can get on DK. NFL/NCAA -120 juice on anything they think wins. It's a joke. DK offers me nothing though in terms of bonuses and I've bet millions with them. I don't ask but they seem like they don't care. FD is not even close to the operation dk is IMO.

Yes, I can attest DK generally has the fastest payouts lately. I’ve even done “smash and grabs” depositing a bunch, run up a fast profit, and then ask for a payout of it all. Has gotten sent over and available in the bank within minutes.

BetRivers has also improved over the past few months or so with payouts of under 10k usually available instantly to the bank.

FanDuel is hit or miss. Sometimes I get a payout quick, sometimes later the same day, and sometimes not until after midnight into the next day. Overall still not bad, but they have sat longer than DK and BetRivers lately.

Juice is essentially the same. Worse odds on dogs? Maybe sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Fanduel app is way smoother. Not even close.
I am far more limited on DK than on FD (but yes quite limited on some things).
I don't bet every prop under the sun, but my impression is that FD has more offerings.
True Fanduel offers no bonuses, but they do offer some profit boosts and risk-frees.
Overall, FD is way better IMO. Not just trying to be argumentative.

Anyone have thoughts on DraftKings rewards so far in 2025? Even at Onyx level, I haven’t been too impressed. No more crown multiplier days to use and such?

Wonder if more will be rolled out, but so far the program revisions this year don’t stack up to me.

FD took the cashout down on all 3 slips after Keys beat Iga & never restored them. Should've been 250k to 300k minimum going into the Men's Final. DK would've never done anything that shady & I have no reason to defend them after limiting me to switch back to FD last month.
