    Justin Fields benched.
Wilson returned from injury and they are benching Fields. Teams 4-2 and this is the best Fields has ever played. Didn't see this coming.

May be a raw deal. Will Wilson play well?

He was great in Seattle. Not that good in Denver. Seems father time caught up with him quicker than most.

That's what I think. Trying to figure out if this is a lateral move.

When he was in Seattle, his mobility was a great asset used to scramble for First Downs. Have to think most of that is gone.

Ugh! Horrible mistake. Fields didn’t light it up but he reminds me of Tebow that he wasn’t a decent QB but still was able to win games. Wilson is just as bad as Fields but he’s way past his abilities to even win games.

Thanks for the info as I gotta make changes to my picks for NFL contests. 🤣

Best he ever played and he was still mediocre at best. There is your explanation. That defense carries that team and has for awhile, but at the end of the day you have to be able to trust your qb to throw the ball. Fields is a glorified rb who puts the ball in danger far too often. They need a guy with a high football iq who can take care of the ball, enter Rusell Wilson ( without an idiot like Payton as HC ).

Saw a stat the other day Pitt QBs records since 2019:

                Ben R 21-12
                Pickett 14-10
                Rudolph 8-4-1
                Fields 4-2
                Hodges 3-3
                Trubisky 2-5

To your point, defense carries this team doesn't matter the QB (well unless it's Trubisky who is just horrible). Didn't see anything spectacular from Fields, just the same mediocre QB at Chicago. Wilson was probably promised the starting job and I would guess this is Tomlin making good on that

I'm not surprised at all. Wilson should have spent the year as a tv analyst and then looked for an $8M playing contract next year. Instead he chose to play for vet minimum but he demanded a starting role. If the Steelers won't start him he'll walk. If he walks Fields could also later decide to walk if the Steelers won't upgrade his contract. Fields is on an expiring low value deal. This year is an anomaly for QBs. 6 top prospects came into the league and none of the starters retired. Next year could be 0 prospects and multiple retirements. I don't blame the Steelers for taking advantage of both Wilson and Fields, but their QB situation is somewhat precarious.

Great post. Their situation is rough. Could end up with neither! I’d say at 4-2 Tomlin is proving how good of a coach he is and I’ve been critical of him underachieving in the playoffs.

I think a lot of teams would be content with 26 TDs to just 8 INTs

First of all Tomlin always said a player would never lose you starting spot because of injured. Wilson got hurt. Just don't see what the difference right now between the QB's is. The D is what the team is all about. Give Wilson a few games. IF not go back to Fields.

They won two Super Bowls and many playoff games over the past 20 years. It could be that it was felt the direction offensively was regression to something best left behind since they did it for so long.

If you can say their defense is playing at a higher level than most others, you have a basis for leaving their offense alone.

Pitts record with and without TJ Watt is an impressive stat. Every time Watt is out, Pitt is an automatic fade. Pitt 1-10 without.

He is a gamewrecker. He would have multiple DPOYs if not for Aaron Donald. Probably robbed of it last year although Garrett might still be better
