I had a BetaMax back then. Paid 1100 for it. Had a 25 foot wire attached where I could plug it into the machine, sit on the couch and pause it or speed it up. lol.

I remember taping the Islander game, came home from work and set up to watch the game. The Beta Max ran out of tape while watching, the TV came on automatically because I had it hooked up to that channel and you had to keep the TV on to tape. The game was in the 3rd playoff overtime period. The game ended in the 4th overtime period. . That was the befuddling best.
