It looks like this hurricane is going to be the biggest one in about 60 years, according to what I've seen. Unfortunately, I think that's likely.

It's going to smack Tampa in 30 hours in pitch darkness with 110 mph winds.
Middle of the night, power outages in the middle of Florida, all sorts of flying debris going on...

This may not end well for a lot of families.
          God, I hope I'm wrong.

It would really suck if you are on vacation now in Disney World. They are shutting down and will probably give out rain checks but still people may get trapped in a Disney Hotel for a while until transportation means start up again.

Going to Disneyworld during an evacuation warning... potential Darwin Award winners there.

Agreed, Disney was always going to close, you'd have to live under a rock to not have had at least a week notice not to proceed to that area. The parks always protect themselves.

Disney has always been about the bottom line and the Brand Name first, everything else doesn't matter.

Yep, I'm in Fort Myers. Looks like landfall will be north of us a bit. But the power will go out this evening and then high tide will usher in the storm surge in darkness...scary!

Disney website says if a hurricane warning is issued in Orlando within 7 days of your visit, you can cancel or reschedule your Disney Travel Company hotel packages (staying at a Disney Resort) without any cancellation or change fees.

So it sounds like if you just booked your stay at a Disney hotel, but didn't buy a whole package, you might be SOL. I could be wrong about that.

Absolutely. Have to have a zero tolerance policy on it. Last thing people need in this situation.

How anyone could even consider stealing from another person under these circumstances allows me to agree. Zero Tolerance.
This is beyond comprehension for anyone with an ounce of humanity them.

Agreed, anyone who can steal or add pain/suffering to someone in this situation deserves the outcome. Unfortunately- a lot of bad things will happen in this situation beyond the hurricane itself.

                                            I hate it too.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis warns would-be Hurricane Milton looters: 'Don't even think about it' (nypost.com)

Florida has pretty aggressive looting laws.
Law is not in my wheelhouse, I had to look it up.
Anything under 40 dollars in Florida is a third-degree felony, after 40 dollars the penalties become stiffer.

Even if you're convicted of a third-degree felony, your life is pretty much done.
If you have a felony next to your name no credible business will hire you, hell they won't even interview you.
I have a buddy that works corporate HR, he told me once a misdemeanor you can't get around, a felony, that's a different story.

Isn't Tampa the home of one Sheriff Grady? He's another no nonsense go ahead and shoot first then ask questions later type of dude. Sort of like Sheriff Bufford T Justice from Smokey and the Bandit.
