    ==========================
NOTE: Of all the years I've been doing these "system" plays, this year has been the most profitable I've done for my contest picks. Past years were really bad, like 2000th place out of 4000 players. This year, using this system, I placed in the top 100, but last week fell back a few spots.
Anyways, I just wanted to share this with anyone interested ....I only win "fake money" in my contest.....maybe someone here can win real $$$$.

This System finds the team that is better in
    *MOV
    *SOS
I use the SRS Rating at sports-reference'(SRS -- Simple Rating System; a rating that takes into account average point differential and strength of schedule. The rating is denominated in points above/below average, where zero is average.)

Next, I find the team that is better in

    *Y-PAD (Yards per pass attempts)
    *Y-RAD (Yards per rush attempts)
I do the teams and their opponent and find the difference (see example). A positive is good, a negative is bad.

To qualify for the BEST BET, the team must have
1- a positive SRS and opponent a negative SRS.
2- a positive number in the Y-PAD and Y-RAD differential.

    Example. Navy-10 @ AF

    Navy SRS +15.32 Y-PAD 15.9-6.9=+9.0 Y-RAD 6.8-5.1=+1.7

    AF SRS -14.36 Y-PAD 4.7-8.8= -4.1 Y-RAD 3.7-4.0=-0.3

So , my opinion on this game is that Navy SHOULD win this game easily. BUT, you cannot cap turnovers and the intangibles. This is a rivalry and stuff happen.

I use the Expert picks to find the 7-0 Dogs and 7-0 Favs.
When fading the Dogs, the above scenario goes out the window. I ignore the numbers and go against the "wisdom of the crowd". I don't know if that qualifies as being a contrarian play or not, but there's been more winners than losers fading the dogs.

There's so many more games that almost made the cut but for one reason or another, didn't make the BEST BET list. I'll just track them in my office pool to get the total win/loss record for this week.
If you are interested in any specific game, I can post them here.

Hopefully the System will continue to be profitable, but, I dread that awful week when regression shows up...and I know it will show up. Every. Single. Year.

      Good luck!

          ========================
Just a note about the Navy/AF game that I gave my opinion on.
The numbers were in Navy's favor to win the game easily. Army had similiar numbers and also won their game by a wide margin. I wish I had more time to post the numbers for the games to add more confidence to the pick. I'll try this week, maybe do it for the Best Bet games only.

          Overall System Plays Week 6
          ATS 17-21-2 (45%)

We sucked overall this week, BUT, I am getting used to reading and understanding the System better. Although we sucked this week, I found a group of winners by combining the System Plays and the contest consensus picks.

          On to next week......

Public Contest Dog FADE THE DOG)

I've been entering this contest for many years and always took note of the consensus when entering the contest.I kept an eye on the Dog picks, but never really had enough interest to keep accurate records over the years.
This season, starting with week 5, I started to jot down the consensus for the entire schedule as I entered my picks. I got distracted and didn't finish the whole schedule for week 5 so I'll just start posting the picks from week 6.

At first I listed the picks by the Expert Consensus.
The 7-0 group went 1-1-1 ATS.
The 6-1 group went 3-2-1 ATS.
The 5-2 group went 1-1 ATS.
And the last group, 4-3 went 3-0 ATS.
            TOTAL ATS 8-4-2

Then I regrouped them by the pick percentages. There's three groups.
            Group 1- 51%-54% ATS 1-3-0
            Group 2- 55%-59% ATS 2-0-2
            Group 3 -60%-100% ATS 5-1-0
            TOTAL ATS 8-4-2
            ====================================

            Pick%/Con/Team/Score/SU/ATS
            Group 1
            52%/5-1 Akron+14' vs BGreen 27-20 WL
            52%/6-1 W Virg+3 @ Olk St 14-38 LL

            53%/5-2 UTEP+10 vs Sam Hou 41-21 WW

            Group 2
            56%/4-3 Baylor+12' @ Iowa St 43-21 WW
            58%/7-0 Rutgers+7 @Neb 14-7 WP
            58%/6-1 Duke+10 @ Geo Tech 24-14 WP
            59%/4-3 So Car+9' vs Miss 27-3 WW

            Group 3
            60%/6-1 UCLA+28' @ Penn St 27-11 WL
            61%/6-1 Mich+2 @ Wash 27-17 WW
            66%6-1 Iowa+17 @ Ohio St 35-7 WW
            67%/7-0 BC+1' @ Virg 24-14 WW
67%/Troy+13 vs Tex St 38-17 WW
            67%/4-3 Mizz+2' @ TAM 41-10 WW

Summary: Your best bets out of this Subset from the System will come from Groups 2 and 3. A team that also has a 4-3 consensus is the stronger pick in those groups.
Group 1 should be the NO PLAY teams or PLAY ON the dogs to win the ML.

Because I do everything old school, paper and pen, it took me awhile to solve this puzzle. I finally figured out how to get rid of the rift-raft and get down to the nitty-gritty....lol.

This will be included in my Weekly NCAA thread.Just a word of caution: SMALL SAMPLE SIZE, use caution, do your homework.
