South Alabama vs Northwestern St. bets cancelled Bookmaker
I had the over 59 points. The game was such a blow out, the ncaa put a 6 minute fourth quarter running clock. The final score 87-10. Bookmaker cancelled my bets. Is this legit?

Unfortunately, it’s legal and Vegas rules need football games to be played at least 55 mins. It happened last week with Georgia game but the 4Q was 10 mins and not 6 mins as last night. Sorry that it happened to you. Bettors need to be weary of picking these type of games where teams play against cream puffs.

See headster's post. Most books have had a standard 55-minute rule for Football games to be graded as Final.

It used to be very RARE that the 55-min rule was implemented. I know for a fact that a Wisconsin/UNLV game from some years ago ended at ~ 53 minutes because a generator blew out and the lighting was compromised.

WISKY was up by about 20 at the time and was covering the Favorite line. Bets were cancelled and refunded, via the 55-minute rule.

This rule is (seemingly) more important now:
        1) The mismatches seem to be bigger.
        2) Teams (seemingly) score quicker. So, the margins get big. Coaches agree to the Mercy Rule and run the clock.
        3) NCAA now has a bi-law that allows coaches to agree to a running clock in the 4th qtr. I can't find the exact language.

You see it applied more now:
*TennTech/Georgia was a shortened game. Coaches agreed to reduce the 4th qtr clock for safety reasons.
*Also, the SoMiss/Kentucky game only went 35:00. After two lightning delays, the game was terminated at 31-0.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

          Note re: TennTech/Georgia:

The 'Dawgs outgained Tech 498-134 in a game shortened to 10 minutes in the fourth quarter.

Your bet made it to ESPN...

South Alabama's 87-10 blowout of Northwestern State resulted in sportsbooks voiding bets after both teams mutually agreed to shorten the fourth quarter by six minutes.

The new rule total bullshit. If you schedule the game you should have to play the entire game. That is what these schools signed up for. Going in they already knew they would get crushed for money. Just another reason this country is such a clown show these days.

The new rule isn’t bs it makes a lot of sense for the teams playing

the only problem is it cancels all full game bets

maybe books should change there rules bow

Well if makes so much sense to alter the 100 year old rules in the middle of a game, then just show up to the stadium and exchange handshakes and everyone go home. You can just make up a score or run in through a model or EA Sports '25 for record keeping purposes.

Otherwise play the damn game you scheduled.

That's total bullshit. The over already hit. Books should pay the over anyway.

Any update Courtesy? I hope Bookmaker pays you.

DraftKings' house rules state, "There must be 5 minutes or less of scheduled game time left for bets to have action unless the specific market outcome is already unconditionally determined." The last part is crucial, as over and under bets on the total (in this case set at 59.5, per ESPN BET odds) can be deemed "unconditional" -- in other words, they would have hit regardless of anything that could have happened in the final minutes of the game.

As a result, DraftKings graded overs and unders as winners and losers, respectively. BetMGM confirmed that it settled total bets in the same manner. Caesars, ESPN BET and FanDuel did not immediately respond to inquiries for this story.

I had Tua OVER 33.5 pass attempts the other night, that DK graded a wash.
They didn't have to do that.

They should not have for that matter. One they do it once every $5 bettor and their mother will call for it if any of their players get hurt. Setting a dumb precedence simply because of the media attention he garnered. Went in your favor this time but as the OP notes, the book usually screws you on a small technicality.

you need to be the first half over/ first half huge spread if you bet those type of games

like Kent State is horrible... I bet Tenn first half and didn't have to check on the game again after the first quarter

Kent State lost at home to an absolute nobody team last week... I saw they had to play Tenn next and made it an auto-play. Tenn also wanted to end the game early and take the 2nd half off because of their next game v a real football team
