Jets big line move at Forty-Niners - Discussion
The line moved 2 points in the last day or two, from SF -5.5 down to -3.5

Niners signed Aiyuk and he will have the whole week to practice before next Monday night's game.

Pearsall suffered an extremely unfortunate injury with the gunshot wound but even though he is only a rookie i could see them rallying around him and trying to "win for the young gipper".

the biggest issue i see is that OL Trent Williams of the niners is still holding out.

he is such a huge factor for that offense. not having him is the next closed thing to that offense as not having brock purdy. that is how big a deal he is for that team.

on the other side we have aaron rodgers coming back after barely playing a quarter in last season's home opener.
they looked good v the bills until he got hurt.

long cross country trip for the jets to play on monday night in front of the defending nfc champ niners.

ATS angle pass. line at 3.5 or 4 looks sharp.

Not sold on Aaron Rodgers and I think a lot of the bettors are, Niners or nothing.

I wouldn’t call 5.5 to 3.5 a huge move but it is noticeable

49ers player getting shot maybe ???

        Johnny
in the niffel, 2 points is a pretty big move especially for lines that have been out there since seemingly the April draft.

I don't think it's Pearsall. It's the Trent Will holdout. And people love Rodgers coming back.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Given the way the Jets have played recently, you wouldn't be far off.

Prime time unders boys. Keep the train going. College ball already falling suit. Anything under 47.5 should be decent. Them points are dry when the lights come on.

Points are not equal. 4 & 5 aren't big NFL numbers so -5.5 to -3.5 isn't a huge move. -2.5 to +2.5 is almost the same size move as -2.5 to -3.5. The change in the 49ers line is due to the LT.

Trent Williams is arguably the most important player on the 49ers. There is a huge difference when he plays/doesn't play. Personally would have paid him rather than Aiyuk and that Jets D might feast on the 9ers oline if he doesn't play.

Aiyuk is a very good WR but their offense would still be very good without him, they are in big trouble without T williams.

It was never a matter of one versus the other. Their contracts are being structured in a complimenting fashion. 49ers FO plays 4d chess while the media questions everything on a checkers level. Williams was due no more guaranteed money on his existing deal and that's simply no way to play when you are the premier LT in the league and could be dropped like a ton of bricks if you got injured. So they needed to bang out the details in Aiyuk's deal to know how they wanted to break down Trent's. Now they freed up even more cap which they can roll over into next year and have no issue paying Purdy. Might lose 1-2 guys next year should they decide to move on from Deebo or Ward but even that is a false narrative because they won't HAVE to thanks to being able to restructure other contracts such as Warners.

Trent is a player that can move the needle a point or 1.5 or so.

                                I like SF this week.

Exactly, he did move the #. Saw that he signed.

The -3 moved from about -134 to -152. Maybe 18-cents, which is very much in line with your 1.5 pts.

One betting angle on this stuff. Was Trent ever going to miss? I mean, these teams cave at a 98% clip.
