They didn't get outplayed. The game played evenly.

USC missed a chip shot field goal but LSU turned the ball over on downs right on the doorstep to open the game.

At this point, who the hell knows? LSU is at least getting a pass rush occasionally. Hopefully at some point it'll result in a turnover. They had a sack/fumble in the 1H but didn't jump on the ball.
