NF?? can someone explain the FASINATION w/the/sport
-every year and this Include's ncaaf doesn't add up to 6% of yearly wagers
-any given Sunday, also the only sport I think motivation factor, and individual player can change outcome of a game
-being nice on this one. Wagering is obsolete/worthless last 3 weeks before post season
-after 1 or 2 weeks of grinding (most of the time adds up to a loss) the shit gets old
-far more value in other sports during the NFL
-unwatchable but then again never really watch much of any sport
    am I missing something??

Veri, I'm with you. NFL is now a very tough sport to bet. Where are the edges?

I really think it's that guys want action on the games they're watching. They play the Fantasy FB and convince themselves how smart they are. It's about having some skin in the game.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

NFL is about the only sport I can tolerate watching while betting on it. I watched and liked the Olympics also. Can't watch baseball, WNBA, soccer, golf, etc. Do bet on those at times bet never watch.

They play comparitively few games. If MLB, NHL and NBA teams only played 17 games per year, there would be the same obsession with those sports.

Well, it is the sport with the most variations of strategies so that gives it an any given Sunday feel. It's also a game where emotions can determine the outcome. Also, the most complete team sport where it takes the entire team effort to succeed. The scoring system rewards events in such a way as to allow for multiple achievements. Then there are the physical aspects of people engaged in a type of violence. They play in all types of weather, although they are taking that out of the game with all the new stadiums. The betting system is the best suited to evening the odds of winning and not relying on payouts to force an underdog to actually win the game. It has beer breaks and bathroom breaks for the fans. Its pretty much all American values wrapped up into a sport.

The NFL benefits from perhaps the most powerful branding tool out there, the helmets. We all know who is who once we see them helmets. Hard to know who ManU is when they have a big ass Chevy bowtie on the chest of the kit. Hard to know who Real Madrid is with an airline sponsor 3x the size of the Real Madrid insignia on the kit.

Albeit short on time these days. PGA has way more opportunities over a course of season. Talking the individual -vs- individual whole tourney matchups. The stats available compared to say 5 years ago are crazy. Like the sos#(tourney player enters-vs- strength of field for that tourney. I think the opportunity compared to soccer is way more profitable.
