    Tom Cruise closing Olympics stunt
Should these stunts be allowed after the owen hart tragedy?

Hollywood legend Tom Cruise jumped from the roof of the Stade de France tonight in a death-defying stunt during an extravagant handover ceremony in Paris.

Jaguars mascot does it every Home Sunday. The Hart tragedy represents the absolute worst case scenario and has not occurred since, to my knowledge. For Tom Cruise, this is his life. Nothing but adrenaline keeps the guy going. Everything else in life is mundane at this point. Only thing going against him is his Scientology. Which has him blacklisted from The Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.

With all due respect, give me a break. Are we never supposed to enjoy stunts ever again because of one specific tragedy that happened a quarter of a century ago?

Tom Cruise is an incredible stuntman who also happens to act. If you follow the Mission Impossible movies, those are all real stunts performed by Tom Cruise with no help from computers (other than erasing safety equipment in place). He really scaled the Burq Khalifa. He really rode a motorcycle off a cliff. He really held onto the side of a plane as it was taking off.

he really broke his ankle as he jumped from one building to another (while he did have a harness just in case he couldn't make the jump) but instead of hanging there with a broken he climbed up over the edge and finished the scene where he had to run again.

Cruise is a total madman. There’s a clip out there of Matt Damon recounting a conversation he had with Cruise about some stunt in one of the Mission Impossible movies. Whatever it was blew Damon’s mind so he asked Tom how he did it. And according to him Tom was like “so we went to the safety director and said hey what about this. And the safety director goes oh we can’t do that. So, we got a new safety director…”
