Keep an eye on this afternoons Twins/Astros game
Minnesota's 3B/DH Jose Miranda with ten consecutive base hits is two hits shy of an MLB record.
Ten consecutive hits are just mind boggling.

Hunter Brown just plunked Miranda to load the bases in the first.

Not malicious, Brown was trying to get him out pitching him inside, the pitch was a little too inside.
And you don't plunk a hitter with two on and one out.

Miranda just delivered an RBI single for his eleventh consecutive base hit.

His next at bat could be historic.

My buddy Brandon from Saint Michael Minnesota works for the Twins.
I just hit him up on X, told him "What are you guys putting in his Wheaties, I want some of that".

I once went four for five in a game and I thought I was on fire.
The only time I made out that game was when I smoked a line drive to left that the third baseman had to leap like six feet to snare.

                  But twelve consecutive hits?
                  That's scary insane,
                  Hunter Brown has serious skills.

You know how hot hitters are. When you are seeing it, it's like slow motion. Seeing it like a beachball was the saying. Probably still is.

But we also know that when you are just seeing it, a line drive shot at the shortstop or 3rd (I Pitched or played left handed but hit right handed. I know...weird) or a ball hit on the button to an outfielder WILL happen. It's incredible that in the pros someone can stay that hot for days to get to 12 AB's.
It's one thing to get a bunch of hits against guys that are throwers. And I'm talking American Legion or High school , Lol.
                    But MLB pitchers? Unreal.

This isn't my daddy's game when Maris and Mantle ruled the game.
Back then you had one game a week televised, all you had for coverage was pretty much The Sporting News, daily newspapers, and radio.

This is 2024, where CNN has eight cameras up your butt, and intense internet bombardment.
That's what makes this so remarkable, the over-the-top scrutiny.

Roger Maris said the scrutiny was so intense his hair was falling out in clumps.
And that was sixty years ago!

                            True Nasher.

We did have Warner Wolf though.

Let's go to the video tape.

Here are a few for your viewing pleasure.

We also had Art Rust, Jr.

The patriarch of sports talk radio.

Great accomplishment for Miranda. Thanks for the info. 99% couldn't do that in a slow pitch softball league. Side note, Will Smith had 4 homers in 4 official at bats spanning two games that ended today.
