This play was barking at me since this afternoon.

1) Irvin is severely overrated, yet the books continue to give him too much love.
He is what he is, a serviceable left-handed pitcher at best.
This is the third time I've faded him since May.

2) Texas had the starting pitching edge.

3) I pay close attention to LHP splits.
I've been doing this for a long time.
(I can tell you why if you're interested)

4) Garcia smashes lefties.
Semien, Langford, and to a lesser extent Grossman all hit LHP well.

5) Texas was steaming coming into this.
Rangers felt (and it looked like it to me) that fastball that Povich plunked Seager on the wrist with was intentional.
Texas was coming in with a chip on their shoulder.
I pay attention to those tangibles.
