The Red Sox are scrappy and streaking, Yankee line up is a mess.
Red Sox, 10-3 in their last 13 have been winning every which way and now own a wild card spot.

Yankees just placed Stanton on the IL for the sixth time in the last four seasons.
After Verdugo, the lineup now from 5-9 should scare nobody.

Yankees are in full scramble mode now, they just signed JD Davis.
JD won't get them there, he's just a stop gap now that Stanton and Rizzo are out.

Baltimore is clearly the team to beat even though they are a game and a half back.

Boston - 170 tonight at home (Toronto)
    Yankees off tonight.

Cleveland at Baltimore series starts tonight.
Keep an eye out for Cleveland, they are the best of the Central.

The Red Sox are making the AL East a lot more interesting, but I wouldn't write off the Yankees yet. Their pitching has been excellent and Judge + Soto makes any lineup very dangerous.

IMO the AL East is by far the best division in baseball. It wouldn't even surprise me if Tampa gets hot at some point and nabs a wild card spot... their whole lineup can't slump forever. It should be a fun series of races to watch.

Gerrit Cole makes his second start tonight, he was a tad shaky his last start.
Mets start Peterson, a LHP, outside of Soto and Judge the Yankees don't really hit LHP very well.
I can't lay -160 on the road, should be a good Subway Series, Mets look like they got their act together.
JD Davis batting sixth tonight for the NYY, DH Jahmai Jones bats eight, that lineup is a mess right now.

Bello starts for Boston tonight, probably the rotations weakest link.
Toronto has the pitching edge with Gausman, faces Boston for the second time in less than a week.
Sox lit up Gausman last Wednesday.

            Baltimore starts a LHP (Irwin)
J-Ram annihilates lefties, Boy Wonder Steve Kwan is .412 vs. LHP
Cleveland is going to be a tough out in the AL come October.

              Mets +120 v. Yankees

The New York Mets have been a red-hot bet heading into the 1st game of tonight’s Subway Series against the New York Yankees.

In their last 11 overall games, the Mets are 9-2. They have also won 3 straight games behind tonight’s starter David Peterson, and 5 of his 6 starts this season. For tonight’s 7:10 pm ET on TBS, the Mets are +126 home underdogs.

The Yankees, on the other hand, are just 3-7 in their last 10 overall games, and just 1-4 in their last 5 games versus the Mets on the road.

Hit the link below to get our MLB dime lines for this local grudge match plus the rest of tonight’s packed baseball lineup.

Yanks load the bases to start the game.
Volpe singles, Roberston obviously wants no part of Soto and Judge, walks the bases loaded, no outs.

Torres stuck out looking stupid in doing so.
                Verdugo strikes out as well.
Take a guess as to what JD Davis does, win valuable prizes?

                    Your boys are playing well.
Have to give credit where credit is due, I dogpiled on the Mets last month, but they got their shit together pretty much at the same time.

I don't really care much for both NY teams, glad you're happy.

Nice win today for my KC Royals, right now Boston and KC would be the two wild cards.

Check out the Red Sox starting lineup tonight.
Eight lefty sticks and a right-handed hitter.

                    JD Davis hitting cleanup tonight.
About time Boone benched that useless Torres, the guy has no clue.

I see Whit Merrifield is starting at 2B tonight for Philly.
I mention this because I was wondering last night as to why the Yankees don't try to pry him away from Philadelphia.

NYY are in desperate need of infield help.
                            Anthony Rizzo is shot. Done.
He hasn't played a full season since 2019, I seriously think his playing days are over.
Rizzo's done for this season with that freak broken arm accident, he's pushing 40 years old, no speed whatsoever, the bat is wicked slow....
Rizzo's slash line in his last two seasons (169 games) as a Yankee is butt ugly.
.236/.312./.363 Kwan's batting average in Cleveland is higher than that slugging percentage for the love of God.

                            Here's the real crime.
This is what Cashman paid for all that.

                            Year Age Tm Salary
                            2020 30 Chicago Cubs $16,500,000
                            2021 31 Chicago Cubs $16,500,000
                            2022 32 New York Yankees $16,000,000
                            2023 33 New York Yankees $17,000,000
                            2024 34 New York Yankees $17,000,000
                            2025 35 New York Yankees *$17,000,000
                            Earliest Free Agent: 2025

Then there's the other elephant in the room, Gleyber Torres.
His bat has become invisible virtually overnight, he's swinging at shit at his ankles, looking stupid I may add while doing so.
His defense has been atrocious at a position (2B) where defense is critical, dogged running out a routine grounder, claiming his hamstring is preventing him from running full out...

News flash Torres, I was taught since the age of eight that if you're hurt, don't play.
Both Rizzo and Torres are also both 'problem children' as well.

Yankees picked up a JD Davis from Oakland, who can play both corner infield positions, not well, but Davis is at least a warm body with spotty power.

Merrifield can play all infield positions (except pitch and catch) better than Davis and Torres, plays both corner outfield positions, hits for a higher average, has more speed...

I'm sure the Yankees can pull off a deal with Philly for Merrifield.
He wouldn't be a cure all, but a welcome addition.

Gleyber Torre is playing 2B tonight and batting fifth.

Yeah, that's what you like to see, a guy whose bat has more holes in it than Swiss cheese who's clueless at the plate clogging up the meat of the order.

He can't run full speed and his glove has as many holes as his bat.

Volpe is a quality SS; the rest of that infield is a three-car pileup on the I-95.

I stand corrected, Soto is a late addition to the lineup.

My opinion only, Boone is panicking, Soto has trouble holding the bat.
(Having said that watch Soto go 3-5 with a dinger)

Judge just hit a two-run shot that's still orbiting Uranus.
Eighty games left still, but he's pretty much locked up the AL MVP Award.

I'm not an Aaron Judge fan boy, my guy is Bobby Witt Jr. but I totally respect Judge.
Besides the obvious (God given power, stellar defense, etc.) Judge is pretty much straight edge which is why his name in never mentioned in controversy, and judging (see what I did there?) off of most of the accounts I've read is the consummate teammate.

I'm paying attention this Yankee/Blue Jays game, it's an interesting strategic game.
It appears both managers game plan is to work the opposing pitchers, (Gausman and Garret Cole)

Through the first four innings Cole's pitch count is at 75, Gausman's pitch count is a startling 88.
Yankees have worked Gausman for five walks already.

Gausman and Cole are hardly hamburgers, Gausman is Toronto's staff ace, Cole is the reigning Cy Young Award winner and an AL league ace.
160 combined pitches thrown through just four innings is what you wouldn't expect.
