Makes sense. Jeff was a good analyst. His brother Stan is good, too.

That's ESPN's response to anything when they feel butthurt.

This is no surprise. ESPN has been a bitch for so long. Years ago ESPN got rid of the best sports drama show, sorry “Friday Night Lights”, named “Playmakers” because NFL didn’t like it. ESPN does anything the sport leagues tell them to do.

I remember that show. Sure, it was dramatized. By TV show standards, it was pretty good.

Well his problem isn't what he said necessarily. It is that he is a white heterosexual male. If he was a transgender, gay, or simply not white then he could say whatever and it would be cool with ESPN. That is how America works now.

I thought his problem was that he was a terrible announcer.

Marc Jackson was also fired but that doesn’t fit your narrative so let’s just ignore it.

Oh but wait we have one for your narrative, don’t forget about fired John Anderson @ Sportscenter another white heterosexual (I think.. lol) male.

ESPN made a bunch of cuts, blacks, whites, women, you name it, the station was losing so much $$$ they had to cut guys loose, so they did.

I like to hear truthful opinions.

But if I was being paid by the NBA/ESPN to help them make money from broadcasting the league, I would not be shocked to be let go if I am talking down the league a lot.

Jeff was knowledgeable and pretty funny on the broadcast. Marc Jackson not so much. The reality of ESPN is that they just suck in general. Being owned by Disney doesn't improve the optics.

he was very outspoken there is no doubt about it.

as a fan i enjoyed listening to him very much.

but i can understand how his bosses needed to keep their reputation strong with the NBA.

it is kind of like when eric dickerson was talking down the rams a lot under HC jeff fisher about 7-8 years ago.

eric went to practice or a game, i cannot recall, and was trying to stand on the sidelines and was asked to leave.

Jeff Fisher had no right to ban one of the goats from practice. Disgraceful

Sage is killing it on her POD and is way more interesting post-ESPN. Best thing that ever happened to her.

The average TV station makes about 43% profit margin while ESPN makes 18% profit margin. Expect more clippings.
