Wow, was totally expecting the RIP.

Was he a genius? No. His IQ shot up 20 points when he inherited good players.

I did enjoy Paul Sorvino's portrayal of him. Loved Paul O'Neill on the great Yankee teams.

Simply put, Joe Torre is GREAT.

Gold glove catcher who hit bombs, hit for average and understood the game behind the plate as well as from the dugout as well as anyone IMO.

He did it all.
